It's a work in progress. Since the old one wasn't working anymore it has been removed. I still gotta make it prettier, but that will happen in due time.
But, if someone's got suggestions on how to make it prettier, those are welcome! :)

Can we get a small maceus farie pop up with useful advice? "It looks like your trying to troll another player. Click me for some help!" Or... " it looks like your beating a dead horse. Want some help?" - that would be lovely!

In all seriousness tho. Prehaps (if possible) a background consisting of ingame pictures that changes every now and then? Granted that might be a bit advanced.

Or like many other types of sites with Prehaps a shout box and "current news" etc. A forum with only posts can seem intimidating for new people.. so Prehaps a sort of "front page" with shout box. Images. Recent news and some basic server info.

Any who. That's just on top of my head. Do what you can and I'm certain it will benefit as well :)

Change the landing page, image centric, mobile responsive, either with static height fix and anchor tagged carousel, or scroll info unfolding.

So what you're saying is: "Please rebuild the forum"?

Kidding. Those are both great suggestions, and maybe one day I'll update the complete forum style, but since I've only got so much time to work on this I'll have to cut it up in smaller pieces.

I do really appreciate the input. Those are great ideas and might help a lot with the overal appeal of the forum, especially to new players.

Oh, I understand.

No, the suggestion rather is only a change of the landing page. It would actually be impossible/impractical to have a single webmaster work on complete overhaul. By the time they finished (thinking about 200-400 man hours, taking volunteer staffer a couple years probably) the re-worked site would be antiquated.

No, just the landing page, that which the SEO should pick up on and shoot new viewers. I would set a java redirect of all topics back to the landing page if viewer is not logged into the forum. This way anyone googling a topic, say Epic Spell Call Lightning for example and it hits one of our topics, they get the beautiful and eye catching new page.

A landing page would be awesome. Downside with redirecting everybody is that we lose valuable content in search engines. We're now also found on a lot of info that we offer on these boards.

I'll keep the idea in the back of my mind, and will start looking into ways of doing this, without having to spend hundreds of hours in it ;-)

For the forum clock, can there be an option to have it in both standard and military times and maybe the person's personal time zone? Like:

Friday, 17th June, 2016
13:35 UTC / 1:35 p.m. UTC
08:35 CDT / 8:35 a.m. CDT

I think it might help with some of the occasional conversion flubs. ;)

Sure, that should be possible. But I'd like to know if others would like that as well. Always when I'm on the forum, I've got a clock on my computer telling me the current time, so I wouldn't really need it.
And what is standard time? As I'm always clueless as to which is a.m. and p.m. . . ;) (making what I think you refer to as military time, my standard time)

Anyway, if you'd like, we could start a poll on either your format, or the currently used format, as I'm willing to make such changes, but only when more people want it.

I would love to see that! Also if it said your GMT conversion.. like:
Friday, 17th June, 2016
13:35 UTC / 1:35 p.m. UTC
08:35 CDT / 8:35 a.m. CDT (GMT+5)

Regarding the poll: go for it! As I know some folks are checking the forums from a phone or tablet, the computer clock isn't always right there at the bottom right hand of the screen to compare.

And I just learned that much of the world uses the 24-hour clock, but the 12-hour clock is still dominant here in the U.S. So yes, what I call "military time," non-Americans probably call "standard." Sorry for the confusion. :)

Edit: nice addition, Akroma!

Alright, you've got me.
I'll put it on my to-do list!

Thanks all of you, for the suggestion and for thinking out the formatting as well ;-)

Making the Forum was super easy—I set it up.

How/why did it break?

What about the SummerTime/DaylightSavingTimes ?
That looks like it could get complicated, as everyone has to manually switch it on/off in the forum control panel each time it changes.

Friday, 17th June, 2016
13:35 UTC / 1:35 pm UTC
08:35 CDT / 8:35 am CDT (UTC+5)
Just to make it neater, leave the dots. Also if UTC is used the conversion should be UTC or use GMT for both, just to keep it consistent.
