Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I am currently trying out rog3/wiz7/ek10/AT10 with the Onehander feat, but I am curious as to see if anyone have found a better way, AC/BAB, to make a wizard gish wielding a sword in one hand and nothing in the other while still managing CL30.

Requirements:
CL30
Longsword proficiency
Onehander feat
Insightful strike (INT to damage) Edit: I meant the Combat Insight feat, ahem.

Desired:
High AC unbuffed
Decent BAB (26 would be awesome)
No sneak dice (if at all possible)

Undesired:
Rapier
Armor, beyond light
Anything required in the second hand slot


Yes, I am still trying to get something to emulate the bladesinger class with a real sword, not a poker.

Does Longsword actually work with One Hander? Because it counts as Two handed in terms of dmg bonus (and animations when in combat).

Currently it does indeed.

From the feat description: "If you are fighting with a onehanded weapon or a light weapon, and carrying nothing in your offhand,"

So no torch, shield or other oddities carried in the other hand and you are good to go with a onehander.


A minor nuisance in the feat usually firing rather late in the round as it were.

I don't think 26 BAB can be reached by a gish with 30 CL. If you combine W7/BM 4/EK10/DS9, you get 25 BAB at 30 CL (thanks to PrSpC combined with Blood Component). The only way to get 26 here is by replacing one Wizard lvl with the last, non-casting Dragonslayer level, which means only 29 CL, and I don't see any other arcane class combos that could possibly yield more BAB than these.

Maybe Monk could be taken to get the lost attack back (and one more due to the Flurry bug), but then the longsword-caused overly expensive investment in STR simply for AB (as the dmg gets replaced by INT dmg) leaves too little for DEX and WIS AC.

I suspect you'll need to live with 5 attacks +1 through Haste. Although - I once read that the Berserker Frenzy extra attack actually stacks with Haste (contrary to the description). At least in theory, this is the only way towards a 26 BAB simulation I can see, though it might not be worth it and possibly be seen as an exploit.

Longsword doesn't work with Insightful Strike though.

At 3rd level, a swashbuckler becomes able to place her finesse attacks where they deal greater damage.

OP edited and indeed it does not Thorsson, Combat insight were the feat I were truly after.

As for Wiz?/DS7-9/EK10 builds the only problem with them is the feat stealing (dodge, iron will) of the DS class, probably it is about the only credible way to go sadly.
