Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

So, I've got a few bows..I'm like a ranged weapon hoarder here..

Here's my question: How does the arcane archer arrow bonus apply? I've not seen any evidence that my +5 bonus is doing anything along the lines of bypassing DR, like..ever...With +5 arrows one should be able to bypass at least some DR, right?

Here is the thing: I dont ever use "normal arrows". Does that have any bearing on this? What about my unlimited bow +3 arrows?

AA stacks with almost everything, but only if the DR is EB based will AA bypass it, like the ghosts in the netherese ruins that have scaling DR up to +4 completely bypassing it; for things like balor and pit fiend AA will bypass it if you have the right arrows, silver or cold iron in whatever case since they have double DR, one for metal and one for EB up to +3 i believe?

however, AA does not stack with other arrows simply because a +5 arrow cant be fired with a +3 arrow... tho its been a while since i tried but it shouldnt work with the arrows alone

so if you have a normal bow and use +3 arrows on a 9 or 10th level AA you will only get the +5 bonus and not the one from the arrows, but if you are using a +3 EB bow with unlimited normal ammo then your arrows get a +8 total

So if I have a bow with +4 eb and am using elemental arrows, d4 fire, for example, then the fire will still stack, but if i use +3 arrows, I get no stacking, is that right?

right, it makes AA really good for special arrows but not normal ones

the two bows my AA uses are the +3 EB one with unlimited normal ammo for just walking about or grinding when she wasnt 30 yet

and the bone crusher, which i believe is also +3 EB but has extra ranged damage blunt on it, which is nice for bypassing some undead DR, but its the one i use my special arrows with
