Physical Description

A tall and imposing figure, Eliphas looks as he was forged to be a living weapon. He is a perfect human specimen with no appearant physical flaw, combined with his silver white hair and pale complexion, giving him the appearance of an angel. Interestingly, his voice can be soothingly comforting and hard as steel at the same time.

As a paladin he was known to have donned a Mithral plate armour with an eagle at the center of his breastplate, adding to his already angelic visage. In contrast, as his alter ego the Dread Lord Greldinard, he wore a pitch black plate armour with spikes on its shoulder plates and his family crest on the chestpiece. Additionally he wore a face mask made of obsidian and enhanced with magical endurance and other properties, such as the ability to distort his voice so much that it sounded otherworldly if not like something straight from the Abyss.

His most prized possession was an Adamantine Longsword of great and fearsome power, called Endbringer. Its origin is lost to time, but it's believed to be at least a thousand years old and of draconian design. A Zhentarim Arch Mage by the name Elessar the Defiler theorised that it may have been forged back when the dragons waged war against the Creator Races. At some point it came into possession of the still young Banite Church and somehow turned into one of the most fearsome weapons in all Faerûn; a Baneblade. Its properties are mostly unknown to all but those who wields it and even then only the most powerful wills ever unlocks its full potential. One of the known abilities it possesses is the ability to change appearance and mask its alignment of itself and its wielder. In its true shape it has a slender two-sided blade with ancient draconian letters imbued into its frame. Its hilt is of mithral and the bottom-part is formed like a dragon-claw clutching a strange red ruby-like gemstone. Looking into the gemstone gives anyone a strange sensation that sometimes changes into fear, other times into a craving to hold it. As a Baneblade, it inflicts unholy damage that cannot be healed by convential means or even by most divine healers. Only a cleric of the highest caliber may be able to remove its fatal taint. There are rumours the blade is sentient in some way and all its wielders have known to absently carass its ruby-red gemstone. Its current whereabouts is unknown as it disappeared when Eliphas did.

Eliphas is emotionally scarred by the events that lead to his fall from grace, but these scars are all invisible and they never surface, yet they fuel him with purposefulness, ambition and ruthless aggression. He is known as a manipulative and charismatic individual who has made it an art-form to hide a lie within a truth, always coming off as sincere.

On the battlefield, Eliphas displays are far more brutal persona, not holding back in any way. Purging of the weak and slaughter of those foolishly trying to protect them, he appears to have no limit to his evil.

He does, however, portray some redeeming traits whenever dealing with Cecilia, his "adopted daughter". He seems to tolerate her endless quest to redeem him, either because it amuses him or because she may have struck something deep inside.

The Deceiver portrays a rather dry and cruel sense of humour, finding amusement in belittling those he deem unworthy of their station.
