Dragon Breath Items

The dragon armors that have the dragon breath spell on them, the breath is good damage, but the area is larger that the target painter and the range is so short you cannot help but hit yourself with it. Had a fight today where I killed myself in a PVP bout that we had a solid chance of winning had my own spell not blown up on me.
Could we get this looked into, shouldn't it be a cone? Its a good ability rendered useless by the fact that you are always in range of it and it hurts you.

I've used the Fire Dragon scale SLA before and never had any problems with self-inflicted damage. You need to practice your targeting a bit more perhaps?

Even when i paint the target far away i run INTO range then use it, maybe it is only the lightning breath version?

I only get one use per rest, so I can test it very frequently, but literally every time I have done it, no matter what I tried targeting wise, I either get hit or roll evasion, either way I am always in range. It shouldn't be possible ever to get by your own breath, right? Aren't other breath abilities (dragon warrior for example) cones?

Correct. You shouldn't get hit with your own breath >.>
However, PnP wise Lightning breath is a line. Still, a line shouldn't shock you.

Good point, I had forgotten that. Either way, it can hit you and it probably shouldn't. Probably not a high priority though, to look at this.

Maybe we can meet up in game and play with the two different armors and see if they are actually working differently? Shoot me a tell if you see me and you aren't busy and I'll make some time.

I get this a lot with my gas breath armor. Even when my character is supposedly "out of range" of the "tiny" (the targetting recidule shows a small circle, the aoe is much larger than the circle implies, and the AoE animation itself is a cone) target, I'll still end up hitting myself. The only way I've found to avoid this is to immediately backpedal with "s" as soon as its cast (even that is a 50% solution at best).
Personally, I think it would be better if their AoEs were changed from circles to cones and lines (where appropriate). I don't think you can hit yourself with either of those AoE types.

Might want to talk to little Miss Maddy for a potion of Listerine.
