Template For Character Creation Reward:
First Name: Raman
Last Name: Fenemein
Appearance:
Race: Tiefling
Age: 24
Height 6'3"
Weight: 145 lbs
Eyes: Red
Hair: Silvery-Blond (naturally black- he colors it with magic*)
Facial Hair Style: Short black beard.
Personality Profile:
General Health: Fair. He is still susceptible to illness, but he's in fair physical shape.
Deity: Mystra and Oghma, though he still gives lip service to the usual pantheon of good and neutral-aligned gods.
Initial Alignment: Neutral. Although he generally goes out of his way to be good, he is naively unaware of the implications of some of his actions.
Profession: Adventurer/wanna-be Acolyte of Candlekeep
Base Class & Proposed Development: Rogue 4/Wizard 6/Arcane Trickster 10/Eldritch Knight 10
Habits/Hobbies: He spends most of his time reading various tomes, from books on magical theory to mediocre adventure novels. He's particularly fascinated by linguistics, and will often seek out tomes in order to learn different obscure languages.
Languages: Common, Infernal, Cant, Arcane, Draconic, Terran, Auran, Abyssal, Undercommon, Celestial, Orc, and Goblin.
Weapon of Choice: Handaxe & Shortsword.
Background: His fiendish ancestor was a Hamatula, five generations back. His fiendish ancestry comes from his mother's side. Raman grew up in Proskur, a settlement on the Dragon Coast well-known for its open thieves guilds. He was the younger of two children, and his older sister Saria was a notoriously sinister member of one of the local guilds. She would often bring Raman along on her heists, in case she needed a scapegoat- as such, he picked up a few tricks of the trade like lockpicking, though he was never proud of it. Because his awkward demeaner, anxious stammer, and fiendish features were so prominent, Raman was often the target of severe bullying by the local human children, and scorn from the adults. Since he had, quite literally, no friends, he found himself taking up hobbies such as reading and insect collecting- as he grew older he began collecting every book he could get his hands on. When we was a teenager, Saria started becoming quite interested in their fiendish heritage after stumbling across a cabal of Warlocks. When it was discovered by the local guard that Saria had been conspiring with the Cabal to summon the Hamatula responsible for their fiendish ancestry, Raman fled town to avoid being persecuted. He wound up on a ship going west along the Chionthar with nothing but a shortsword at his hip, a suit of simple leathers, and an empty spellbook. He hoped to reach Candlekeep, with the goal of studying Wizardry and becoming a scholar.
Goals: Once his position as a scholar of Candlekeep is secured, he plans to assist the Keep with accumulating as many rare tomes as possible and becoming the greatest bastion of knowledge on Toril (assuming that it hasn't already done so). Otherwise, he frankly doesn't have many goals- he isn't a particularly ambitious man. He's quite happy resigning himself to helping others achieve theirs.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He got kidnapped by Lissal and now has a deep-set fear of Drow and the Underdark in general. For a long time, whenever he was able to get away with it, he would wear a mask and hood to hide his deep red skin and prominent horns for fear of how others would view him, though he has slowly become more comfortable without. His obsession with study can occasionally obscure his morals, causing him to dip into more taboo subjects like Necromancy- not out of any maliciousness or ill intent, but out of simply wanting to know as much magic as possible. His severe social anxiety causes him to stammer when he speaks, even to his closest friends.
*Disclaimer- As part of the "play what's on your sheet" rule, it mentions that 'cantrip-level effects that don't effect others are fine.' Prestidigitation does not exist in the game, but in both 3.5 and the updated Pathfinder rules the spell has the ability to recolor something. If this is a no-go, I can change it, no worries.
