They are all missing their helmets and don't even have glowing eyes. They are more like helmet-less horrors now

I see helmets when I've been there but haven't checked today myself.

You mean the ones up top actually had helmets? As long as I remember they haven't had them in the Underdark.

Helmed horrors in Durlag's Tower have helmets.
Those in Haunted Mansion don't.
