Suggestion to add Kaedrins Feytouched races (lyrical and shadow) to the game. Are they balanced? Do they fit lore? Thoughts?

The painted and star elves, as well as spellscales seem sort of balanced. Probably ECL on that last one. Feytouched allow for CHA casters to get the triple; prodigy, fey power, +2 charisma. It would definitely need ECL and maybe some tweak.

No idea about the lore.

I suppose, but the feytouched have a net +2, while most ECL+0 races have a net ability of +0. Even most ECL +1 races have a net +0. Providing a net ability of +2 at ECL 0 is as such at odds with the other races.

Like if we'd need more elves. >_<

I think that INT/WIS offensive casters are inherently more powerful than CHA casters on our server. I'm sure an argument can be said for the opposite, but I have long since given up playing sorc and spirit shaman builds.

I voted yes, but I'd want to make sure the lore is okay by the DMs first. I do not think star elves are going to upset the balance. I do not think a ECL adjustment will be needed yet. We need more elves with higher CHA than 8 IG. Even if only as targets to kill.

Kaedrin specifically forbid any more additions of his content to BGTSCC. Luna respected that, since the fallout.

So my suggestion is to stop looking at Kaedrin's stuff, and present it as D&D 3.5 material, and what is appropriate to the Server's Timeline and physical location.

I don't believe the suggestion is to use his direct content. The addition of a custom race is not that hard and BG building team are more then capable.

Kaedrin has stated in a blog post that the static between he and BGTSCC is over.

Seems pretty direct what the suggestion was. Anyway, my comment had absolutely zero bearing on whether or not BGTSCC's Devs could make them, or not. Additionally, Kaedrin wrote:

If we incorporate any of Kaedrin's content, we will want to double-check with him to make sure it's A) fine for us to do so, and B) OK for us to make alterations to it in order to balance it for our server.

I'm not saying no to any of Kaedrin's content, just "we'll want to talk to him about it first." Ours is a small community and I want to make sure that all of the community's content creators are comfortable with our use of their content.

Kaedrin's a titan of the NWN2 community, and he did amazing work when he was on staff here. I consider him a friend. We even seriously thought about converting NWN2's 3.5 ruleset into a Pathfinder RPG ruleset once upon a time (and he even started work on it). If he'd rather we not use his work anymore than we are already, then I will respect his wishes.

Either way, an "I don't care" isn't quite the same thing as a "go ahead." And I'd just be a lot more comfortable talking to him directly before giving my own go-ahead on the inclusion of new Kaedrin stuff on BG.

I guess I should change the post.. Just looking for more charisma bonus races.. And the charisma Dex seemed to be a great combo for warlocks or DSM combos.
