last saved location not working

last saved location doesn't seem to actually save reliably, unless maybe the server actually shuts down gracefully.

Mystra/Shaundakaul tells you where your last saved location was if you are unsure. Just exit the conversation and check your combat log.

If there's been a server update your location will have been cleared out.

The "save location" button in the PC Tools is not working at the moment, and hasn't for some time, so resting or logging out of the server is the best way to save your character. Of the two, logging out of the server is the best way to ensure you've saved your character server-side (say if you just picked up a nice item or made a really high-level trade).

But that does not save your location reliable, sometimes i does - other times you will get returned to an older last location

logging out or resting will save the character.

and as long as the server is still up, it remembers where that pc is

but if the server crashes, even if you've rested and logged out, it will not remember that PCs last location ...


for example, Ril's last location has been in the UD for a week, and now Ssinyrr's last location has been stuck on a dm map for several days. (and rp wise she should be on the surface and not forced to go back to the UD, which she has no IC way of doing, and no IC reason to go)

it seems that if the server shuts down gracefully, and if a pc was logged in, rested, logged out and then back in (and maybe rested again) before the server shuts down, then sometimes it will update last location... but not if it crashes (which lately happens a LOT)

I haven't been able to return to location for several days nor have I been able to return home. I think there have been updates and crashes to blame for this.

Is there a way we can get them to tell you your last saved location in the dialog cut-scene? Having to speak to them, exit the conversation to see the last location, and then talk to them again takes up time when there is a line waiting to go down.

that's right, you can find out what the server saved as your last location by starting the dialog with Mystra and then cancelling.

however... that doesnt do anything to fix the problem of the server not correctly saving last location

At least as it was before (save on rest) it was somewhat reliable working, now it is not at all.
