Build advice for a Dwarven Paladin

Seymour had a lot of good advice and Stonebar gave some tips so thank you guys. A few things remain unclear. How big of an issue is dispelling for Paladins in general? How many caster levels do I want? I'm not going less then 20 paladin levels for certain but that leaves me 7 levels to play around with.

I would recommend getting CL of 28 or better for a paladin. Only because their durations are garbage.

I wouldn't play any caster anymore without a 30 CL unless it was a warlock, and even then; I would still want to be as far above a 27 CL as possible. I have been spammed by dispels before even casting buffs since the change; just think about that. As far as a pally, I suggest extra turning and EDM. Dip rogue for evasion and tumble while aiming for EW.
Or you can go 4 Levels of Pally and 26 of FS with EDM.

Practice spell caster's +4 levels should aid in the reaching caster level 30. So a non caster dip would be doable without risking being dispelled?

If you're going to focus more on the martial side of things, I would splash some fighter levels (for feats) or divine champion for a bit less feats and more saves.
If you're going for a more beefy approach, you could look into going dwarven defender or anointed knight.

Yes. With practiced spell caster, you have 4 levels to work with. My above advise takes that into account. You can still get breached or mords however. It still will not matter if you get hit by a dispel and you have not reached a level high enough to resist it.

Eclypticon is right. A 20+ Paladin build is heavily dependent on their buffs; I'd want a very good reason for not getting CL30 and wouldn't even consider <CL28.
That said, you could take other classes and just dip a bit into Paladin, e.g. Pal4/F12/DD10/Ro4, when you wouldn't have any spellcasting at all - or need it.

Maybe one issue here, a RP issue, is that to play a Paladin, a Player wishes to REALLY be a Paladin (which means X number of Paladin levels).
The challenge I've found is when making a Paladin of CL 25 or higher, where to find consistent AC and DMG. The Pally spell book is pretty interesting, but short lived. Same with EDM (not to mention getting that Epic Feat at such high level is a turn off for a slow leveling Player like me).
Pally dips can get your build way better and consistent damage output, but then your Character Sheet is something else. Which of course doesn't mean one can't RP a Paladin mindset even on a straight 30 Fighter, however, it is the special nature of being the utmost divine warrior.
And being a dwarf as well...very cool!

There are some class kits ready to be implemented for Paladins. In specific the cavalier class kit should make an excellent dwarves paladin tank.

I won't give too much details because they are subject to change but the general idea is that with the class kit cavalier the paladin loses turn undead ( edm) and games the shield slam line of fears along with some other bonuses.

That sounds kinda cool.
What about a Class Kit where the Paladin gains the Fighter Weapon Focus / Specialization feats?
Paladins don't hide behind shields!!

In its latest form pious Templar - a paladin/blackguard prc- will give the focus and specialization of the deity's weapon instead of mettle which is considered op

Again, this all sounds very cool!
I'm a little nervous that these previews of additions will only get IG after the 100% RCR is removed. Not an end of the world issue, but still.
