Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I just RCRed Shei earlier this week and now she has all her gear at level one on the newly created character, but when I go to level up, it won't let me add new spells to her thus preventing me from leveling up. It tells me that I have two spells to add from level 1 to 2 but when I click them they don't move over to the known spell list.

I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but Shei was a character from before all the big changes to lore and classes, so I had to RCR her because she no longer met the requirements for her PrCs.

The only thing I can think of is if you retained exactly the same character name as before and somehow your (full) spellbook has carried over, meaning you have no new spells to pick at all. Try deleting two spells from your book and try again?

This sounds like what happened, however it doesn't look like -all- the spells carried over because I don't have any of the level 0 spells.

I didn't realize that we have the ability to delete spells manually. How do we do it in game?

Is it possible to level up without picking spells? This would make things a lot easier so I don't have to contact a DM to get all the spells I had before RCR (it was a mandatory RCR because of the changes in lores/class requirements).

In your Class Feats list there is one called Remove Spells. Use it and type in the exact name of the spell/s you want to delete. The process takes time so be patient with it.

Also, DMs will not give you back your lost spells. Wizards are the only class that have to fork out the significant GP cost associated with a rebuild. It cost me 110k gp the last time I rebuilt Aeili, and that doesn't include the 30 or so spells I wanted to keep but couldn't due to what I perceived then as the 245 spell limit cap.

I've figured it out, but ugh... So we just lose all our spells that we've built up over time playing the character? It's not like we had a choice (short of abandoning our PrCs)... It's hard enough advancing Wizards as it is, and I don't have as much time to play as I used to....

Yeah its tough. Most folks never bother to rebuild a wizard at all for the above reasons, and the DMs have never done anything to address it.

Magic bleeds every wizard dry of gold. All the time.

11th Wizard RCR, approximately 600k spent in scrolls. I count it up to material costs.

Try getting the new spells on a level30 sorcerer/Spirit Shaman/Bard pre 100% rcr. Talk about bleeding...

I thought only wizards learned spells from scrolls....

Yes only wizards learn from scrolls. I think he means that sorcerers, bards, and spirit shamans had to rcr to get new spells since their list is limited to what they cast.

Implying they bleed XP, instead of gold & XP like wizards did with 50% RCR. . .

Implying there is a multiplier to their XP loss with respect to Wizards, able to learn new spells without RCRing at all, and also hinting at the fact gold is vastly easier and faster to come by with respect to epic level experience (especially high epics).
