Thought I would share with the community.. I live out here in California in the 3rd worst real estate market in all of the US for median income vs price per square footage. I finally found the holy grail of homes that fits almost perfectly for me at this exact moment in my life. Its under a specific medium income housing restriction which I qualify for and under a preferred lender whom I happen to work for and gets huge loan discount of .5%. I can also opt out of keeping it deed restricted before I close escrow making it instantly a normal home and gaining equity.

3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1600sqr foot in a gated community. Literally being built as we speak. I got to pick the carpeting, tile, etc. It truly is something I'm very proud to do finally. I've wanted this since I was 16 and saved everything I could to make it happen and its finally real!

I used to work in California at a large bank years ago, I can only imagine the cost of homes now. Well done on the discounts too.

I grew up in the West End of the San Fernanado Valley (real valley girl!) and I know what the prices are there now compared to the 80's when my family bought.. and compared to what I paid here in VA for our house.. You are.. among the lucky, both to be back home (which I miss with all my heart) and to be a home owner in their current market.. That's both tough and praiseable.. Enjoy your new home, and enjoy making all the special memories yet to come!
