Now that there are wing models. Do fs get wings/ability to fly? It has been a former debate, but now that the wing models are in the game does that mean yes?
They do in PnP and their is a feat for wings in nwn2, not to mention druids and shapeshifters can already fly.
What does everyone think?

Instead, you will find the an item called "Appearance Kit" for sale at the following vendors:
- The Barkeep in the Winding Way Inn
- Bentley and his wife, at the Friendly Arm Inn (and the Temple)
- The basic equipment vendor in Gloura's Wings.
Over time, I will try to add this to more vendors, but these are the four places where we had consignment shops so it seemed like a good start, at least.
Use the item in your inventory to activate the dialogue.
Not being able to hit "Go back" is intentional. Finalizing a property or piece of armor will cause the dialogue to end, and cancelling the changes should return you to the main menu. This is working as intended, so try to make sure you pick the right choice the first time.
There are still things like Gargoyle wings and odd appearances that should not be used unless your character has a legitimate need to dress up for a
play or masquerade (or something of a similar vein like that).
Leaving this here since I keep getting a lot of questions about it.

There has been no rule changes about wings for favoured souls. No wings as per play your sheet rule.

well now that the models are on the server there is little reason not to use them for classes that should have them, it would still be within the play whats on your sheet rule for a level 20 FS to have wings since thats what the haste 3x day is suppose to be
the issue would be updating the description to reflect such and having the feat grant the wings to the character model
logically now that its available it is a change that should be done, other things have been update based on new content that wasnt originally there to be in its place like it should have been, like drow racial spell faerie fire

I'm of a similar opinion. Races or classes that in lore allow wings/tails shouldn't be forbidden from having them if the graphics for that are available and the implementation requires minimal dev work.
I haven't heard of any compelling arguement against such change.

You mean remove haste 3x day and add wings and fly? I'm up for it.

Change the description to include wings that are only strong enough to provide extra speed and higher jumping (5 tumble), but not flight. Give them the wings feat while removing haste, and be done with it.

well that would be the other side of the issue yes, what to do with the haste
wings and replace haste with movement speed increase wouldnt be bad, and the ability to fly can be used in events as that would require DM oversight anyway to make sure the movement would be possible (i had thought of a mechanical option but now that its actually fixed and i was able to use it, it wouldnt make sense to give the ability to wings)

So how much does it cost a character with wings to reforge armor to allow wing slots.
Magic armor sizes to fit the wearer. But no where in cannon does it accommodate for wings.
Just teasing. But a fun thought.

Also why is it assumed a favor soul wings could lift the favored soul and its gear. Much less plate..,.. Also don't they have to eat a ton more for the calories. Sorry just thinking of things that came up in X-men issues and Hawkman from dc.

the ability to lift something heavy is more onto the physics of flight rather than the actual size of the wings, tho bigger wingspan does mean more lift
look at dragons, dragons weight tons and tons - a gargantuan sized dragon (usually wyrm or great wyrm) weighs 160,000lbs and yet retains the ability to fly - flight however is a two part issue, movement speed and maneuverability
as dragons get older they get somewhat faster however maneuverability drops off horribly, a humanoid with the ability to fly can only ever fly at their normal land movement speed with average maneuverability
their ability to get off the ground would still be affected by normal encumbrance rules, probably with the exception that light encumbrance would likely mean you could never get a jumping or running start at flight since you would be heavy enough that you couldnt get sufficient height required or move fast enough to get enough speed - however if you were to get a falling start you would be ok (jump off a cliff); and of course heavy encumbrance you arent going anywhere
the armor modification is hardly an issue if you think about it tho, plate armor is made in sections and anything not plate is way easier to mod
