Combat Focus Automatic Triggering

The automatic Combat Focus triggering implemented in the July update does not work as advertised. Instead of triggering once per encounter, it only triggers on the first encounter per reset.

You can still manually activate the skill as normal, subject to a 5 minute cooldown.

I'll flag this to the devs.

The cooldown was supposed to be:
Cooldown at 3,5 minutes.

It looks like a fix is in.

Combat Focus now triggers automatically on the start of combat, every few minutes. Depending on how fast you're going through the spawns, it'll probably not be "once per encounter" as described. It might be if you're RP-dungeoning.

The automatic triggering does not affect the manual option. You can still manually turn on the feat when you need it, so long as you're in combat. You can also manually trigger after the automatic trigger wears off, just in case you find yourself in a lengthy battle. The description has been changed to match the actual cooldown of 5 minutes. I'm not sure whether the automatic triggering still happens if the feat is on cooldown.

I'll see if I can do a bit more testing as to how many minutes it is between each automatic triggering. It seems to occur whenever you have occasion to roll an attack, as I've sometimes had it trigger while I was bashing chests.

Whether or not the combat focus line is worth a 4 feat investment is still an open question. But it should provide more constant benefits now.

Some additional testing:
  • The automatic triggering does still happen even if the feat is on cooldown.
  • The automatic triggering cooldown is slightly less than the manual cooldown. I'd say around 4 minutes?
