What does master of disguise do?

Disguise Self
Type of feat: Class
Prerequisite:
Required for: None
Specifics: You magically alter your appearance. The caster decides what to disguise and may at any time remove the disguise. Unlike regular disguises the Disguise Other spell creates an illusion which can be detected and dispelled. The detection DC for the disguise is the spell's save DC - 10, raised up to your total DC depending on the target's disguise skill.
Use: Selected
Since this is a non caster class so you cast this and the DC is determined by. . . .? Save DC is 0 I assume, so 0 - 10 = -10 raised up to your DC which is your disguise skill? I don't get it.

What does a master of disguise do? I think these two would answer that!
All I see with this particular class!

So... is anyone able to answer the mechanical question around the Save DC function as per the original posters question?

I'm wondering how strong the ability to "NOT" be discovered is set up in this PRC.
What skill is used for discovery?
In the Second Impression feat it mentions a Bluff vs Spot check... can someone with in depth knowledge (i.e. developer perhaps) show us some examples of the calculations used?
Because... with how amazing the spot rolls are for average characters on this server... i'm worried that even a moderating good master of disguises will be easily discovered.

And yes, the level 5 feat.
I understand that this is a spell like ability.
But I too wonder what the precise mechanic for the DC check against discovery for this spell?
Is this a DC against Spells?
DC against Spot?
Bluff?

Please help.

There's no simple answer so here you go : http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Disguise_system

For the Disguise self spell like ability of master of disguise it is like the disguise self spell except the caster level of Master of Disguise is his hit dice +10.

If you use the Disguise self spell only and not the non-detection spell then anyone with a caster level > 16 and True Sight on will see through your magical disguise (which I realize is not very friendly for the MoD, it was likely an oversight to not add non-detection).

Regarding the non-detection part it is tied to your CL and the CL of the people who see you :

Detector CL + d20 vs 11+caster level (+4 if cast on self)

Thanks for the information Valefort.

Regarding the characters hitdice. What exactly does that mean, when it comes to the calculation?
Doing some external reading and the nwn wiki mentions that hitdice is basically the equivalent of the total character levels?
i.e. Rg3/Brd5/MoD5 (total levels 13) = Hitdice 13? Is that correct?
So a DC for the Disguise Self Spell-like ability would be 13+10 = 23?

And the non-detection spell you mention. Which class gets that? I couldn't find it in the list of custom spells. Nor couldn't find it on the nwn2 spell list.

nvn, found it here. As you suggested on the bgtscc wiki.
http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Non-Detection

Interesting to note. Trickery domain gets the spell, Rgr lvl4 spell, and Wiz/Sorc lvl3 spell.
Do bards get it in game? And it's just not updated on the page?

Yes hit dice is your level, Bards do not get the non-detection spell.

So, to make sure I understand how this works...

Master of Disguise gives you +10 to your Disguise check, and makes it magical in nature (e.g. the effect is negated with True Seeing?)

There are potentially two layers in a disguise : the magical one and the mundane one.

The magical layer can be pierced with True Seeing, it can be enhanced with Non-Detection.

If the magical layer is pierced or if there is none then the detectors have to see through the mundane layer whose details are on the Disguise system page.

thanks for the help Vale.

This... is surprisingly... a very hard build to add to a concept i have. The build i have in mind is very caster heavy reliant i think... but... very adaptable in that regard.
especially so as it's coupled with bard and wizard.

i see people have explored using it with sneak builds (guild thief, assasin, shadow etc).

Bard 25/MoD5 would be perfectly fine... Not a 'powerbuild' but it's a bard, so it's fine. CHA 16 and max STR, done.

Trying to make a Wizard/Bard/MoD (or any mix of Wizard/Bard) is going to be difficult to make viable.

the only reason i was thinking wiz/sorc addition was to get access to a very handy lvl3 spell, non-detection.

And non-detection seems to be a must have for this class if one doesn't want to get screwed by Truesight...

Or an I missjudging?

I don't think so. I think you may be correct.
At least that's how i understood it.

But from what i understand from the calculation that was talked about earlier... i don't think the NonDetect spell is a foolproof means of protection either. It helps somehow... but i'm not sure how effectively.
