Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Canonically, Shining Hand monks dabble in wizardry, and Dark Moon monks are often sorcerers.

Mechanically, however, a monk/wizard or monk/sorcerer does not work all that well (at least when monk is used for more than a dip class). That's why I was encouraged to see the Spell domain implemented here, which allows a cleric to slot arcane spells via Anyspell and Greater Anyspell. One could then make a classic cleric/monk that could nonetheless cast arcane spells as per the lore of those two monk orders.

The problem is that the few forum posts I've seen about Anyspell and the Spell domain suggest that the domain is not working properly - Anyspell isn't actually an option for clerics with the Spell domain.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed? It'd be a bit of a gamble to build around a bugged domain, especially with 100% RCR ending soon.

I noticed this too, when I attempted to build my Mystran. It did not show up in the spellbook.

It is currently not enabled. There are plans for it / it is partly done. But it requires a QC discussion. There are some things they are worried about, balance wise. Like Mirror Image for Clerics.

Mirror Image won't be an issue. The spell can be spammed from a wand (with a quite high CL) which is 101 on how to beat bosses as a non-caster on bgtscc.

That's a shame, I was hoping to try out a character with this domain before the 25th. Thanks for the information, though.

Im feeling kind of the same, though I think Ill still go forward choosing this domain. Hopefully itll work out eventually. The Mother of All Magic sure lacks in the domain department

Just curious if there were any updates concerning getting these two spells put back IG?

From a QC perspective I think everyone is ok with it. Just needs Rasael or Duster (or someone, not really sure...I think it's Rasael) to put it back in, assuming it's working correctly. It does work differently than the spellfixes mod in that the lesser version only works on self spells (buffs) and the greater version only works on target spells (damage / save or else spells). No idea the ETA as no one has commented on when it might go in, I can only state that there has not been any negative comments from QC that it will be overpowered or cause balance concerns.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight chad. It's very informative and good to know about what spells will be able to use with which version. Think I'll do my first wiki update to annotate that.

So, Anyspell can utilize any arcane self buff spell of 2nd level and lower. Greater Anyspell will be able to use any any target damage/save or else spell of 5th level and lower.

So, no access to any of the utility spells such as stabilize portal, analyze portal, water breathing, silent alarm or any other RP juicy goodness?

Come to think of it, i would much rather have the RP spells available instead of buff/combat spells. Most buff spells you can get from a wand anyway, and at an 8th level slot, youre not going to firing off too many combat spells.

So it's on the wiki, but! Is it ingame? Does it work? How does it work? Can it realy give you any spell of the specified range? Can metamagic be used with them? Does it calculate CL/DC properly? What if I also have wizard levels?
