Rolling a Druid with a Racial Wis bonus and SR

Unread post by Tekill »

Trying to roll up a Druid. Had a couple questions for druid pro's-
I read the comments on one of the builds that there is a bug where if you have a race that givs a wisdom bonus (Aasimar, D. Gnome, G. Orc) and play druid - that after shapechanging- some of your memorized spells are removed from the spell slots.
Is that true?
If so, has the bug since been fixed?
Would it happen as well if I have wisdome bonus from gear?

Also if I roll a race that has a natural Spell Resistance such as a drow- does that spell resistance stay when I wildshape to somthing else?

Thanks in advance.

Wisdom bug cannot be fixed as it is tied to race. When you shapechange, your base race changes to the new one, meaning racial stat bonuses change with it. This does result in spell slot loss, but not too many. And you can start figuring out which ones you lose all the time and slot a buff there that you cast straight after rest and not have to worry about losing it. You can also cast Owl's Insight before shifting to cover over the stat loss adequately.

Racial SR always applies, because it is a feat. Racial stat bonuses are not feats, so they can change when your race changes due to shapeshift.

As Tsidkenu states, the way to avoid losing spell slots is to cast Owl's before shifting. Also, shape back into your original form BEFORE resting.

Banned for some months.
