Greetings,
A while ago, I read somewhere on the forums (which I can't find now) that raising your Hide/Move Silently skill too high could be detrimental to your PC somehow. Could someone more knowledgeable clarify? What H/MS should one seek to achieve with items/spells?

The best you can pull off here is with a bard build and you will not approach the level that causes the engine to flip. I have seen it happen on high magic servers, but we are not high magic item here.

Urban legend. Not true.
Go as high as you can

i wouldnt call it an urban legend, its just more of a rare glitch, it has happened before but its usually caused by something else breaking

The glitches happen even if you dont have high MS/Hide. Most my sneaks have very high Hide/Ms, never had an issue because of that.

right, the high skill itself is never the issue
and the glitch applies to more than just stealth, its just that few skills are noticed mechanically, its really only stealth and survival that you will see when it happens
