Shadow jump question

Can the cool down of this ability be lowered.
I get why it was set. But it isn't exactly balanced.
See at tenth level sd a shadow dancer can leap up to 160 feet. Once or 16 ten foot jumps. These 16 ten foot jumps are ideal to get behind enemies for sneak attack. In pesky places like dungeons.
To get to 10 SD is a pretty serious commitment.
Can this be discussed?
Also when hitting a transition this cool down jumps to five hours.

The cooldown bug affects just about every feat at some point or another. Right click and use the feat from the dropdown menu.
I have no real opinion on the cool down being lowered, what is the cooldown currently? Is it use per day, or just a cooldown?

5 minutes.
Which is a bit much when adventuring with people. You get to use it once or twice. Maybe a third in a big dungeon.
In pnp. You get it once a day up to 160 feet. Chopped as you like. And can do cool stuff to. But. I'm fine with out cool stuff.
It is at will in pnp.

At will usage on a 5 minute cooldown doesn't sound too bad actually.
Edit: Now that I think about it in comparison to Ki Step, which is basically at will if you only use if every two minutes, a two minute cooldown seems more balanced. Particularly when you consider the 10 level investment needed to get shadow step versus a single feat choice.

Well.
Skill point investments and two feats to get the class. Also the stat investment. Core class levels. Your looking atleast 18 levels to achieve it on average. It's a lot to just build to.
Considering you could by the rules use the ability 16 times in one day.

The introduction of Ki Step probably means this feat needs another look from QC at some point in the future. As to the details, I'm not sure what would work best. But I am fairly certain this is a low priority. Still, it should be added to the list.

Yeah
Figure it's worth mentioning. In case they look at rogues as a whole in the future.

well, you do still get HiPS and qualification for expose weakness and Epic Dodge so there is that...
This said, I think Shadow Jump has been looked at in the recent past as it used to have a casting time instead of instant... I imagine we could look at the relative power level of the abilities, but while Shadow Dancer requires a lot of investment, it does give a lot in return...even without shadow jump.
So to be clear, this is not a 'no' it is what it is, so much as an 'until we have more time to look at Shadow Dancer in more depth, realize the PRC is still fantastic and, while 10 levels may not be an 'optimized' build it is still pretty darn good, as far as stealth builds go on this server'. (I know, some help I am, right?)

It isn't instant right now
But yeah your sooooo helpful. Lol.
But yes it's not dire and still cool. Just figure better to mention it now then down the road.

Make yourself a note... If nothing has been done and the server is stable with relatively few known bugs left from the 'big update' send a poke to QC or directly to me and we'll reopen the conversation. I imagine we still have several updates left to test as Rasael, Duster, Elly et. al. continue to work out the kinks, but after that we will take a look (matter of fact SD is one of 3 PRC's I recently opened up threads on in the QC forums so while Shadow Jump wasn't discussed the PRC is on our radar, just not prioritized at the moment since they aren't really broken, just could use a couple tweaks).

i have a 10 SD and didnt really have too many issues with shadow jump being 5 min cd now that its actually fixed
tho again SD is under consideration for some alterations, lowering the CD down to 2-3 mins may not be too bad, and the pnp ref while nice is already something i brought up while trying to get shadow jump for SD in the first place
5 min cd was the initial trade off for it going from 160ft/day to unlimited

That's what I was assuming when I mentioned Ki Step. Ki Step is now essentially and unlimited use per day feat so long as you only use it every two minutes (If I am not mistaken), and it is arguably easier to get. It is really only the introduction of Ki Step, in my opinion, that calls for this to be re-balanced, or at least considered.

The cooldown is fine. The distance could be increased though.

In my opinion, shadowdancer is a weak class past level 3 (especially from the perspective of a rogue). I'd make the shadow jump like this: short range, short cooldown, short duration buff after use. Arguement: in PnP, at level 10 you could use shadow jump up to 16 times and do so very effectively in a combat. Here, it's not a combat ability at all.
Proposal:
Range scaling from 10 yards ( level 4 ) to 20 yards ( level 10 )
Cooldown scaling from 2 minutes ( level 4 ) to 30 seconds ( level 10)
One round duration buff after a jump: +5 hide/ms, +3 AB (bonus to damage also possible).

Suggested 20% concealment and + AB instead if the hide/ms
