Hideous Blow & Polymorph

I noticed hideous blow doesn't work while polymorphed using the shapechanger cloak, am I to assume it doesn't work with demon form either?
I am curious why even give warlock the ability to shapechange other than to transform for some fast regen then transform back?
Can we get hideous blow to run in demon form please? Every other caster at lest gets self buffs to enhance the form.

It is a devil form not "demon" form.
As per DM ruling, warlock can only cast while polymorphed when they're using wildshape ability while having natural spell feat, and are not allowed to cast in warlock polymorph forms, or in shapechange forms.
Hence, no hideous blow.
Also, in PnP warlocks do not polymorph into cornugons. You get hellcat and swarm of bats and that's it. Word of Changing transforms your opponents into frogs and squirrels. Permanently, if they fail a save.
-------
The only ones that can cast while polymorphed are druids, only when they have natural spell and when they're using wildshape. Anyone else is not allowed to do that.

I guess this goes back to my Guttural Invocations thread then.. and im repeating the same problem. Just sucks I have to scrap such a fun build:
http://nwn2db.com/build/?248188
Like if hideous blow worked.. and nothing else.. it still would only be sub-par.. so I don't get why we can't at least that work. It's just a really fun combo to hit things with your fist and watch it trigger. With polymorph it would be even more fun.. and the forms suck vs normal martial or pure caster builds anyways. Warlocks are made to blast.. constantly.. why not once a round on a demon claw?

Guttural invocation feat does not exist. It is kaedrin's homebrewed nonsense.
Roll something else.
Honestly, I'd prefer if you proposed feats from source books instead. "Allow hideous blow while polymorphed", "allow gutteral invocation" sounds like a request to boost mechanical power of your character. Because warlocks are doing fine, and because accepting such requests won't do squat for roleplay, default response for them will be "no".
There were characters in the past that played amazing warlock shifters. They were doing fine without guttural invocations and hideous blow.
Also, FYI - in devil form you can be one-shot by banishment or turned by clerics.
----
Why do you never ask for things like Warlock's Call, Wall of Gloom, Dark Discorporation, Crawling Eye or even Eldritch Ward?
It is always "I wanna deal more damage" kind of thing for some reason. Those kind of requests are not fun.

I'm. It asking for more power.. I want variaty from "I blast things"or "I'm a dagger spell mage."
Just saying even with full gutteral invocations.. The build would still be sub par mechanically as you so pointed out yourself.
Why does everything have to match PNP? PNP was historically broken and mechanically flawed. That's why most people are scrapping 3.5 for pathfinder and now 5e. Why not allow more custom things for variaty and snowflake builds. At the end of the day, that's what people want.

I played non-daggerspell melee lock with PTWF. Worked well enough. Warlock/monk work fine. You could use warlock dips in other classes too. There was a warlock druid too, eldritch-blast casting tiger was quite awesome.
Use your imagination and creativity instead of requesting power boosts. If you can't think of anything other than daggerspell or a blaster, that's not mechanic's fault.

Because PnP existed longer. At the moment you try to "fix" pnp you'll break it in ways you could never imagine and waste years trying to "balance" it.
One of the fun aspects of this game is figuring out how to properly utilize the character you created and ensure its survival. Use your brain and put some thought into the game. For extra fun, play without build plan and never rcr. Requesting more power is basically you giving up and looking for easy way out. The whole "I want moar power" and "games must be fair and balanced" is nonsense that belongs to modern MOBAs, MMOs and other things.
IMO.
