I have a full 30 on Kory with it. So far Cryptkeeper Bigbys have not been stopping him like they did before.....you be the judge.

The bigby 9 check is against the max of (AC, Escape Artist skill), same for bigby 8 and 7.

Is this still true? Kory has full escape artist and I get stopped by a Bigby 9 everytime for a looooooooooong time. So if it is working then your CL for the casters is way to high and needs to be dropped. If max Escape artist with 49+ AC is not working there is something wrong......

It takes the highest and the check is the vanilla one, ie for bigby 9 :

Caster Roll: d20 + Primary Spell Ability Modifier + Caster level + 12 - 1
Target Roll: max(Target's full AC, EscapeArtist score)

The DC is very much in favor of the caster, probably a bit too much.

So for a 30 int wizard with 30 CL...

10+30+12-1=51 before you even roll the 1d20, assuming no other mods to the CL

Actually for escape artist there's also a d20 so it's :

d20 + Primary Spell Ability Modifier + Caster level + 12 - 1 versus d20 + Escape Artist score

d20 + 51 vs d20 + 33 ranks + DEX mod + items
<=> d20 + 18 vs d20 + DEX mod + items, not that easy :lol:

I wanna know this for my next level up

so if I get escape artist 20

and my ac is 20 [this includes wards maybe - are wards part of the calculation?]

that means my base chance would be 40? + 1d20 to escape vs aforementioned

Do PCs and NPCs use the same bigby spells now?

Try again :lol:

It's the maximum, not the sum of the two. And yes NPCs still use the old bigbys.
