Fiendish Resilience: Change
CURRENT
Fiendish Resilience
Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: Warlock level 8.
Specifics: Beginning at 8th level, a warlock knows the trick of fiendish resilience. Once per day, he can enter a state that lasts for 2 minutes. While in this state, the warlock gains fast healing 1. At 13th level, a warlock's fiendish resilience improves. When in his fiendish resilience state, he gains fast healing 2 instead. At 18th level, a warlock's fiendish resilience improves to fast healing 5.
PROPOSAL
Fiendish Resilience
Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: Warlock level 8.
Specifics: Beginning at 8th level, a warlock knows the trick of fiendish resilience. The warlock gains fast healing 1. This does not stack with the epic feats fast healing. At 13th level, a warlock's fiendish resilience improves, he gains fast healing 2 instead. At 23rd level, a warlock's fiendish resilience improves to fast healing 3.
REASONING
I just felt like the pitiful 20 HP @ level 8, 40 @ level 13 and 100 @ level 18 was a bit of a landslide scale for healing. My numbers are negotiable, but I thought this would be more appropriate and give a bit of an overall slow regeneration demon feel. We can make them stack with the demon form or spell regen, but I wouldn't necessarily think it's a good idea to stack with the epic regen. Unless someone else thinks otherwise. The basic concept was to allow more long term regen at lower levels. I wouldn't be opposed to capping this at +2 regen @ level 18 and that's it. But they would need to be able to get epic regen too.
I welcome full discussion and counter arguments!

Yes it would. So at level 8 you would get +2.Mallore wrote:Would this stack with regen cloaks?

I understand this server has a problem with regency as a whole because its considered OP. But most builds skip any epic regen in general because its know that a +4 epic regen does nothing in the way of the build when you can get DR 6.
Just looking for something besides a 20 HP over 2 min clicky.

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
So you removed the once a day feature for a constant heal.
I think this is fair if it did not stack with cloaks or other regen items. Which could be a bonus freeing your gear slots up for cooler toys.
I do not like the low level double heal constant. Stack it with Ac and you got why party on your hands fast.

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
Since you welcome a discussion...
I'd rather not have this change, even though my main is a warlock.
With infinitely recastable stoneskin, regeneration cloaks and word of changing, it is the last thing a warlock would need.
Basically you character shouldn't even get a scratch in combat to begin with, and the purpose of fiendish resilience is to be the last ditch emergency measure for the situations where you really messed up. Making it a constant effect is overkill.

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
I actually prefer the way it is now as it gives the warlock a reason to rest. If this skill does need to be buffed how about an additional use per day at a certain level? This makes epic fiendish resilience a lot better too.

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
Warlocks are pretty ridiculously powerful already. Tiered with/and/or above Druids and Favored Souls. (They're like Druids cept they have more of a reason to use higher quality gear. Favored Souls are about equal.)
Not sure what the fiendish resilience change would do other than grant them free regeneration. Which is NOT necessary.
If it were in place of an invocation... or their passive elemental DR... maybe then. Or as a bonus feat maybe.
My warlocks are always Con-based. They're freaking beasts.
If this ever got approved as suggested in any fashion, I'd compete to solo-kill the white dragon.
and that's been pretty much my build inspiration since 2014. Something that can solo (or take a HUGE chunk out of) the white dragon...
If you're open to suggestion to the feat... augment the passive DR. Cold resistance changed to Silver? Changed to /- ? Passive immunity to the chosen elemental resists (assuming you're high enough lvl for it)?
I can build a warlock with 9 dr/- and 14 fast healing with this as suggested however. Not to bring his spam-castable DRs and Concealment or 60-ish AC into play.
And I loves me those high-regen builds.
Or what about instead of times/day, a General feat were available to increase the usage to once every 5 minutes?

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
That might overdo it. With epic resilience you're talking an effective full heal (500 hp) every 5 minutes. A limited number of uses are the way to go with this I think.1 time at level 8, 2 at level (?), and maybe a third later on. This is a class that has unlimited 100-200 damage blasts. Infinite haste. It is only needing this to compete with FS/Bards.Akroma666 wrote:I like the idea!Selande wrote:Or what about instead of times/day, a General feat were available to increase the usage to once every 5 minutes?

Re: Fiendish Resilience: Change
More uses/day of it might be nice. Maybe 1 more use/day per tier of Fiendish Resilience you acquire (minus epic).
Or a feat that gives 2 more uses per day of it, ala Spirit Shaman's for Spirit Journey.
Fiendish Resilience is awesome, with the epic feat, also. Its just a shame it only gets 1 use.
(((Off topic)
Regarding the DR, how about keep it Cold Iron, but give epic +DR feats. Maybe 3 +3 feats, or possibly 3 +5 feats. Would be nice to have a variety of warlock feats to take, instead of either CHA or +Blast Dice.
+Invocation feats too! If you can cast that level of invocation, have a feat open up to allow you to pick another.
