Shadow Essence

I picked up a cursed item 'Shadow Essence'. However I can't get rid of it. Can't sell it, can't drop it, and going to a priest does not work. In the meanwhile, it's taking up 50 pounds of weight and making me more vulnerable to magic.

EDIT: Nevermind. I bought a scroll of Remove Curse and cast it on the item itself. Huzzah!
