Barter Bag
Barter is buggy. I was thinking it would be nice to have a bag that can be transferred between players and then on command could move all the items between them without the number limitation and risk of the window closing. I can think of a couple ways this could work or we could make a custom barter window to replace or supplement the one we already have.

Re: Barter Bag
would be great, bartering can be quite frustrating...always a crap shoot if the window will stay open and what not.

Re: Barter Bag
Even if my new proposed method required a little more waiting for transfers, it would be more effective.

Re: Barter Bag
Sounds like a bag of holding which we can't have because it causes server lag. Maybe the current trade window could simply be made stable?

Re: Barter Bag
It only becomes a problem when it holds more items than the allotted number a player should have. One of the reasons a bag of holding is problematic is because it can completely reduce the weight of the items in question, thus, allowing a player to easily have more items than they have the STR to carry.
What I am proposing is a transfer tool. Sure, it would work like a bag, but it could be scripted to spit the items back out into the inventory after 5 minutes or so. 5 minutes would be a lot better than a few seconds. You can never know where you are at in your time interval with our current barter system.

This can still be abused by mules, and adding spitting items out can result in item loss if inventory is full.Eclypticon wrote:It only becomes a problem when it holds more items than the allotted number a player should have. Why not extend Kemo Storage instead to allow sending items (and gold) between players? I haven't used it myself, but judging by lack of complaints, it seems to be working.

Re: Barter Bag
Mulling is allowed and we could work out all the exploits before hand. It may be possible to create a temporary SQL table and tie into storage in case of item loss and server crashes. If inventory checks could be made to see if there is enough space to hold all the items, that would be awesome.
It sounds like a lot of work and would need some testing and debugging if it is ever taken up. My idea is different in that it would transfer items in batches rather than one by one. I'd recommend a GUI with an empty button that automates moving the items into inventory separately from the current system.

Re: Barter Bag
Just another column specifying item type (usage) is all that's needed to pull that off.
