Idea! No, don't leave yet, it's a good one!
PLANE SHIFT.
Seventh level conjuration, like the actual spell in 3e. Maybe a few areas that are on other Planes you can go to with it? And have it cost gold maybe, like Teleport. (With the option to get back to the Farmlands or Sshamath depending on your race, or maybe something like the last-location savey thingy to let you just Plane Shift back to where you were.)

Either way, it would probably need rules to say 'You can't use Plane Shift to go to somewhere on the Prime Material unless you're already on a different plane.'

Thoughts?

Wouldn't say I'm against the idea, but...

I think the plausible implementation at the moment would be "Upon casting the spell, you're immediately sent to Hell".
Another option would be boot your character with a message suggesting to play on sigil.

Of course, as a pure RP spell that requires a DM - why not.

Requires additional areas that are off-plane. This expands the server quite a lot. Is it a good thing to make the server even less BG-centric than it already is? To effectively turn it into planescape? I don't know. I would probably not like it very much, personally. BG - to me - isn't about epic planar RP. Sigil already does that niche better, and I don't particularly like that one (though I realise and understand why some people do).
