So the room with the statues telling you to be circumspect, and the levers. The way I've been told it's "solved" never actually worked for me, but maybe people are just wrong. However, I was going to cheat and go back, rest, return with dimension door and cement the fact that no force in the planes can stop me, not even levers.

But when I go through the door back I end up.... walking out of the door... forward. If that makes any kind of sense. Words are hard sometimes. I took a screenshot, maybe that helps.

So when you try to go out through the entrance you come in through the exit of the same puzzle? Yeah, that's definitely not the way that's supposed to work...
