Bear Warrior

Bugs/Suggestions:
- Give bear warrior the slashing bonus damage when OUT of bear form. Currently they get unarmed damage bonuses, but not out of rage and they hit for garbage unless they equip a weapon, which doesn't transfer over to bear form. This is my bear warrior with epic equipment at level 15. Average damage of 12-14 a hit.
I suggest we change the unarmed out of rage damage to what's listed on the wiki with a slight change:
You hands would deal:
Level 2: 1d6
Level 6: 2d4
Level 9: 2d6
Unarmed damage boost would be considered were bear like claws on arms for rp.

Dropped
- Give bear warrior rage progression at level 8. At least 1 more rage would at least help them be not as heavily dependent on the extend line of feats. They currently get nothing at level 8.
Not possible as per Valefort unless a scripter knows a workaround.
- Make Extended rage last an additional +2 = +7 rounds per rank. It would be on par with the new +5 base.
Dropped
- Allow Weapon Enhancement Bonuses on gloves to transfer over when shifting. Allowing monk gloves enhancements and damage bonuses to transfer would be a HUGE help. Currently they gain higher enhancements depending on the form, but we could remove that feature so that things like gloves with +1d4 acid damage would transfer over when fighting trolls. Since they cant use equipment or items while shifted.
Implemented!
- Buff the regen in bear to: +2 black bear, +3 Brown bear, +5 Dire bear. You cant heal while transformed, might as well make the passive slightly better so they dont have to switch back to heal wasting rages.
Changed suggestion to prevent con-loss death.
- Reverting back to normal then reshifting mid transformation which recalculates your stats and you lose most item bonuses.
- Con loss when shifting back results in a death

Just some information, back when Bear warrior was created the initial idea was to make it progress Barbarian rage. As in a a barbarian 11 gets Greater Rage and so would a barbarian 5/bear warrior 6 (for example).

Unfortunately it wasn't feasible, giving extend rage feats was the best workaround that could be found at the time. So unless a scripter finds a way to actually give rage progression you can scrap the suggestion about rage progression.

You can't give them a single additional use of rage at level 8?

My take is that before we look at any potential buffs the class needs to work as designed. Once we can actually see how it fares when all bugs have been fixed then we will have a better understanding of where it lacks or if it lacks at all.

As i tried it once, i got bored quickly. The bear has too few combat options for my taste.

Maybe give him a 5% on-hit attack like fear, sickening, daze, slow or wounding.

Wounding might be interesting. Rending with claws that causes bleeding over time. Or some sort of bear hug that disables both the bear warrior as well as his foe. A good team use ability.

So in the future we will see bear hugging action in the fight pits?

If the class does not offer enough as is, wounding capability seem like a good addition.

But what about fist damage out of shift? Perhaps while the ability is on cool down or when rages run dry? The 1d3 is really pitiful. A slight boost to unarmed damage while not shifted would be a huge help.

Activate power attack, many builds just have that you know :P

It's a barbarian first and foremost, when not raging it's not a monster but an average fighter. You can take some feats to mitigate the power loss when out of shape/rage.

Generally take IPA on my monster builds to add a little punch from the usually rather high base STR anyway while in monster shape.
