You forgot high heels to go along with the whips, but how can one disagree?

Third time this is up for suggestion?

Edit:
Loviataran and Lolthite priesthood are not in their best costumes without it.
But I am sure some male toons might have the below mentioned hat craze as well, then there are the harshly minded ship's officers and so many others to benefit as well.

Serious part > Whips are cool. Why not have them? We have all sorts of weapons this one could be a cool one. Fireball wielding Eldritch Knight with a whip? Yeah buddy! Dual wield whip master? Hellz yeah!

While not a violation of forum rules, the less tongue in cheek clutter added to legitimate suggestion threads, the more we facilitate the devs' ability to read the merits of the suggestion in question. :D

No one has been able to add any animations thus far; this is why we do not have any whips already. This is actually much harder than it seems in NWN2. The way geometry works is the biggest hurdle to overcome here.

I made this suggestion years ago and was told that it is all but impossible.

so there is nowhere to" borrow" one model ? i mean no one even in the old nwn2 community ever tried to make one ... hug that sad :( but i understand how hard can be to animate that kind of item :(

It is possible and i made this suggestion a little earlier in the year with links. Whips totally need to be added if for nothing else then the faiths that use them.

It looks like things may have changed since I last looked into it. I recommend they be added for QC testing (which I assume will go fine). Then we can go over making a bunch of new blueprints for merchants and the drop table provided everything is bug free.

I heard there were engine limitations in nwn2 that led to the lack of whips, but:

Also, rules for this weapon are different:
Whip
A whip deals nonlethal damage. It deals no damage to any creature with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher. The whip is treated as a melee weapon with 15-foot reach, though you don’t threaten the area into which you can make an attack. In addition, unlike most other weapons with reach, you can use it against foes anywhere within your reach (including adjacent foes).

Using a whip provokes an attack of opportunity, just as if you had used a ranged weapon.

You can make trip attacks with a whip. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the whip to avoid being tripped.

When using a whip, you get a +2 bonus on opposed attack rolls made to disarm an opponent (including the roll to keep from being disarmed if the attack fails).

You can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a whip sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon for you.

Drow could use em given every drow female is essentially a dominatrix... at least all the ones i have encountered, and been abused by lol.

In case this helps: whips have been implemented and seem to be working well on Sigil: City of Doors.

Both Haven and Sigil have fully implemented whips to great success. It is doable, as they have displayed.
