More epic areas/bosses in the UD

Unread post by Flasmix »

At the moment there's only a total of 2 available bosses. A large earth elemental and the Balor. When we compare this to the surface which has a LOT more, it is understandable why the UD is empty for the most part.

As UDers can't fight bosses on the surface, this leaves a lot to be desired down here. I believe if we had more epic areas and bosses it would give people something to do down here and help increase the population.

There's lots of possibilities for more UD areas.

Stone Giants, Fomorians, Dragons, Minotaurs and purple worms just to name a few.

the cries of grieving would probably go back through the roof, so yes

tho to be honest the biggest issue with it before was that the path required you to be epic to transverse but it exited to a non epic area on the surface, surrounded by more non epic areas

so of course if you saw a drow they had to be epic, unless they were carried through which was another problem, so it was rarely even encounters pvp wise which caused complaints

would be kinda nice if both sides of the path were epic and auto consent pvp zones if caught on the other side

Always lacked a shadow dragon down here as for things currently not available, mean kobolds being its posse on the map?

Arguably the Hive Mind could be added to the short list of Guardian Golem and Pitfiend, at least loot wise.
Prior to the altering with the upward road through the netherese the Black Dragon was popular as well. Which kind of point to the wish above?
We lost the High Priestess of Oghrann to the upperdark (yes, she was more of preepic), replacing her with a Fomorian Hive Queen would be nice?

Perhaps a true map of Ooze, cultists and a Slime Lord would fit as well given the rate of slime related events over the years.
Just attach it to the back of the map with slime currently near the basilisk cave.

Lets not forget Aboleth and Kuatoa?
A split map where you actually have to use the Water breathing spell to make full use of the map(s)?

What the poster above said.

It seems far easier to remove the restriction on where players can hunt.

Varellas passage should be a safe route to the surface near dark hold and relatively safe to traverse. It is the most popular trade route between surface and the UD city.

This idea that there would be huge amounts of griefing is just unfounded as no body knows this. & Its also a false argument because the solution to a griefing problem is quite simple - deal with the griefer and the problem stops.

As the Upperdark is shared space and two zones got moved out of the Underdark to the Upperdark, it would be nice to get some new zones in the Underdark to replace the ones we lost.

A new epic area would be great, one that sits between the Stone Guardian (low-epic), and the Pit Fiend (high epic). A shiny new Mid-epic are would fit right in.

As for the second zone, it would be nice to have a new map pitched the same as the Deurgar mines, and its spawn rate, as it still tends to be the goto area. That would at least provide a bit of variety.
