Best damage type to use...

So i plan to eventually upgrade my +4 weapon with a damage bonus but am unsure which would be the best. I am currently thinking acid but sonic is less resistable and im told adding a non elemental damage like extra slashing or piercing would be better. Opinions please?...

If you go for numbers, EB and extra damage (pierc,slash,blud) is best, as it multiplies on a critical hit, elem.damage from weapons does not.

As for elemental damage - fire is better than acid (one is needed for trolls). If you have that than go for sonic.

'Extra Melee Damage Slashing' only adds another damage type to the weapon, but no extra damage at all.

Currently there are only two ways i am told and both require dm help. I was told that at the end of certain events instead of getting gold or xp one can ask to upgrade one of their items so long as the upgrade is not ridiculously high. I cannot confirm this however. The other way is to ask a dm to start a personal quest for you in which you quest alot, rp alot, do many events, and after about a year or so if you succeed you can get an upgrade or in some cases a custom made unique item.
Again i can't confirm this.

Just the other day you said:

rp is not my main priority nor has it or will it ever be. My main concern currently is getting my character to max lv and finding the best gear possible with some rp along the way if/when it presents itself. Rp is strictly secondary at this time.

It seems counter-intuitive to ask the DMs for help, that being the case.

I do plenty of rp actually... i did not say i don't do or enjoy it, just that for the moment its not my priority.

Just want to clear this up - DMs do not do item requests, so you will not be able to do this. custom items have to be approved before hand and are normally only awarded after big events aka the server plot.

Go for fire, if not for anything else than the ability to defeat this most epic of trolls! Bwahahahaha!!

If your weapon is slashing or piercing: add bludgeon damage.
If your weapon is bludgeon: add slashing damage.

If all else fails, kill it with fire (or whatever weapon VFX you like the most. I prefer cold, myself.)

Acid is better than fire, I feel, because more things are immune/resistant to fire. And I was denied adding SFX to my sword a while ago, not sure if that would still be the case.

some epic monster have elemental resistant and some have magic resistant some monster has DR and some cant be crit so what is better well it is all up to you, what monster you fight on that task of you life? it is good to have a item Bank
