Ranged_combat_system - Weapon Distance

Distance and weapons used
There is a penalty applied if the distance to the target is great, that distance depends on the weapon used.

Weapon type Max distance before penalty Distance penalty formula

Heavy crossbow 35 feet (distance-35)/3
Light crossbow 26 feet (distance-26)/2
Longbow 40 feet (distance-40)/4
Short bow 30 feet (distance-30)/3
Anything else 19 feet (distance-19)/3
This penalty also caps at 12, both penalties are applied to the attack bonus.
To put things in perspective keep in mind that a fireball spell has a 20 feet radius.
Can we please have the part about different weapon ranges disabled ?

I don't see any point, in placing someone, who uses not a longbow/h.crossbow, further at a competitive disadvantage. The other ranged weapons already do less damage.

NWN2 never was a realistic game, nor will it be.
(And why only nerf some ranged weapons, for all that would be fair - then do the same to small & tiny melee weapons also :roll: )

Other than that, i really like the cover idea and implemention :!:

Come one - only two people have an opinion ????

I'll bet all others are longbow/h.crossbow users :cry:

Well I have a L.Bow Assasin and so far he has been fine with the ranged combat system. I did notice that it obstructs oddly. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to the obstructions at times for the penalty.

Also auto Many shot is not working either. You still have to use the toggle feat on the shot you want to use many shot with. It also seems that this new system has made many shot not work at times as well. Not every many shot I use for an opening attack does a many shot. Often the damage is below 15 when I use many shot I can do upwards of 50 damage on the initial hit but it is not triggering for all my opening attacks given proper time for many shot to cool down. :|

I can not say at this time that I am in favor of the new ranged system. SO far it has not provided anything but a nerf of sorts to the ranged system.

i would also like to ask if the same penalties are applied to the mobs. does it make any sense for my soloing tank to place the melee mobs between him and the ranged ones.

No it's not applied to the mobs for now.

I found it odd that those that use 2 handy weapon
greatsword, spear ,great axe cant reach those monster that can reach you with a blow
