Thread of Infinite Donations

Don't we all just wish the Title to be true?!?
But the reality is this Server requires funds to operate, both for general hosting, plus, DDoS protection is a must (

).
Maybe you don't take a look at
Server Funds banked often, or at all, but I do. As all things go up, they also go down.
At the moment of this writing and posting, BGTSCC looks funded until Feb. 2017. But before you know it, that will come and pass, and what then? Exactly: more funds now, less worry later.
Imagine simple things, like: if every person that plays on BGTSCC semi-regularly or ALLTHEBLOODYTIME, each sent in 10 bucks, BGTSCC would be sitting pretty for some time. I think crap movies cost more than that these days!
Anyway, my post here isn't a BGTSCC Staff approved or suggested action, it is just me, a long-time Player saying: BGTSCC is Community Supported. Period.
Cheers.
Or...just imagine Maecius is one big ol' Santy Claus needin' many cookies, the green kind.

Thanks Steve. We were going to post a call for these in the next couple weeks. Our treasury was getting pretty low.
Thanks to everyone as well who's supported the server and continues to do so in the months (and hopefully years) to come, be it financially or otherwise. It's been a tough year for BGTSCC but these continued efforts make all the difference.

I give a festive season donation every year. My next one is coming in soon
50 players donating $2.50 per month would be pretty close to covering all the server costs. Think you can forgo one cup of cafe coffee per month to do that?

Cheers everyone.
I sent in $10 today. As should be said: donating is not done with expectations attached. I like to know that what I can give today supports all Players getting online and enjoy the game in the Forgotten Realms/D&D environment.

Thanks Steve, and thanks also to everyone who's donated so far as a result of his call to arms. I haven't updated the treasury thread just yet, but we're up to $162.02 now -- which is quite a bit healthier than what we had in there before!
As Steve points out, BG:TSCC is supported by its community. Financially, administratively, and creatively. This whole project has been a group effort, and it's been going strong for almost nine years now due entirely to the continued support of its players, its staff, and its wider community (including the folks who remain our supporters and cheerleaders even when they're not actively playing a character).
Baldur's Gate's flag will keep flying for as long as enough people care about keeping it up there!

I naturally assume donators get vorpal weapons for donating. Now my main is a warlock so it will need to be a vorpal eldritch blast.
Thaaaaa-aaaanks!

It's in the mail.
But not really.
Unfortunately, the only "reward" we offer to those who donate is a new forum rank ("recognized member"), to identify them as a server supporter.

Well, that and they get a server to play on.
Those who have donated (in any amount) and haven't received the "recognized member" rank, shoot me a PM so that I can get you set up. We all owe you recognition for helping to keep the lights on.

I'd prefer a blinking rank name. Is that possible too?
What if I make it myself? May I implement it then?
Or maybe one of those starlights blinking over your status every once in a while!
How about this?!

I do suspect Maecius being a big ol' Santy Claus . . . I saw a forum thread called "Maecius' Cookie Treasury" somewhere, hidden deep within the forum.

I've updated the treasury thread, and we should be covered pretty safely until about April (maybe even longer, since we're looking into cheaper forms of DDOS protection). We're up to $445.01 USD now. Thanks to everyone who's chipped in, big and small, for helping to assure that the server keeps going strong into 2017!
As far as the Santa Claus comments go, I was only Santa for one year.
And it didn't go so well for the players ...
HO-HO-HOLD ON, IS THIS LORE APPROPRIATE?!
Watch out for San T's Little Helpers:
(Why yes, that is a reindeer ambush coming in from behind)

I accidentally made my donation twice ! But that's ok, you can keep it.

The total would be $40 Canadian. ( 2, $20 CAD denominations lol) Our dollar sucks though right now, so that might end up being like $30 USD.
