Moon Blade questions

How exactly is the Moon Blade spell suppossed to work?

I cast the spell, click the small button that appears, and then target an enemy. I run up and do a melee touch attack. All well and good.

However it only performs a single attack per round and no other actions are possible, even though I have 3 attacks per round normally. This is awful.

Once in combat I can't target it again and most of the time I can't cancel combat to re-select it. I need to run out of combat (triggering an attack of opportunity) and then click the button and target the enemy again. Once again, only dealing 1 attack regardless of my BAB.

The ability can not be hotkeyed, making it extremely hard to select and use in combat. I end up miss-clicking all over the place.

If I kill something with it, queued attacks with the ability will continue to attack the corpse unless I cancel them. At which point I will begin auto-attacking the next enemy fighting me with basic attacks. This means I have to run to cancel combat so I can begin attacking using the ability again, leading to frantic miss-clicking as I attempt to re-target the spell before the enemy catches up to me again, forcing me into auto-combat so I need to run once again. Cycle repeats.

Although the spells looks to be quite good on paper, in practice it's damned near worthless unless I'm using it wrong. Help?

Edit: And after posting this the Search function finally gives me some valid answers. Annoying ones though.

Both Flame and Moon Blade suffer from this. Flame Blade was worthwhile, before it got a single attack per round. Now it is worthless. Moonblade's only real potential use is its spell faliure, which is mildly useful at best. But, I'd generally stick to basic attacks. In practise, neither are very useful spells at only 1 attack per round.
