Background:
Udar was born to a craftsman family in Procampur. His father was jeweler and mother stayed home to look after the childern and house. Jeweler was respected and profitable provision in the city, so Udars mother didn't have to work. He had two older brothers that were destioned to follow on their fathers footsteps, unlike Udar who had other interest. Young Udar never had much patients for the paid education he recieved and very little stuck in his head. He did learn to read and write, but other subjects including history and geography of the realms didn't interest him the slightest. A wild child at heart he often escaped and wandered the city and it's hierarchial districts. After wandering around the city he always ended up eventually in the Port District and observed the many walks of live lingering there. Adventures, mercenaries, traders and many more. He even playfully played dice with some of the sailors and listen to their stories with imagination running wild. His father was mad at him for this and he often got grounded, which never truly kept him home anyway. He even sometimes paid actual guards to keep him in the house, but that didn't stop him either.
When Udar came of age, after a very unsuccessful appreanticeship in jewel making, he told his family he wanted to leave the city and see the world. He had never left the city before. His mother objected, but his father was delighted, seeing a way to get rid of him, and so was his two brothers who never truly cared for Udar. His father did pay for his costs and gave him gold to get started. Saying his mother and friends goodbye he got himself on a merchant ship sailing towards Westgate.
Udar ultimately reached the city and faced the harsh reality of it. Working in petty job after another, and generally surviving, he finally some years later got himself into one of the mercenary companies in the city. The company was called Grey Guards and mostly worked with the many sailing merchants traiding in the city. In Gray Guards Udar learned to shoot and use a crossbow and became very fluet in trapping. He made gold trapping the chest of merchants containers and chests that contained valuables, which made him an asset in the company. He was never comfortable using swords or other melee weapons, but learned some basic combat moves. It was the best years of Udars life so far. He got to visit many locations around Sea of Fallen Stars, mainly protecting trade vessels and the like, and it pocketed him some good gold. After working some years the company dispanded after unfortunate deaths of the leaders and he was left on his own. He did enlisted into another company, but signed a horrible contract that bound him on the group for twenty years with little or no pay. He was naive and did 't read the fine print. After some time he deviced a plan and escaped. He secretly left the city and made his way west escaping the consequences of leaving. He took several caravans along the path to hide his trail and after a long journey found himself in Baldur's Gate.
