Appearance Changer
1) Get rid of the old appearance changer. Its buggy, and causes some of the new items to vanish from what I've been told. Disable it.
2) Give each new character the new appearance changer in their inventory when they start, along with the rules and the DMF1 tool. This way, new players won't be confused as to where it is, since there really isn't a guide to finding it widely availible.

Re: Appearance Changer
An overhaul is forthcoming, including some additional appearance cloning / mimicry and a move away from the dialogue version.

Re: Appearance Changer
Please NO - it still has many different appearances (just look at the weapon options as example) and sometimes the old one works on items that the new one will not.
Adding a (new) appearance changer as default item is a good suggestion, as long as it replaces one of the 3 other items.

Re: Appearance Changer
Its more of the fact that is consumes items (I believe it will always consume the new epic merchant items - correct me on this if I'm wrong and I'll be happy to be wrong), and there is no warning for that available IG. Considering DMs have stopped giving back items that are lost due to bugs, it should either be removed to prevent players from losing items, or at there very least there should be a warning. Perhaps one that forces you to select "ok" before you can use the old appearance changer.

Re: Appearance Changer
What? Where did this change happen/come from? It has been posted that rollbacks and item returns will not be given on module crashes, but not if bugs occur.metaquad4 wrote:Considering DMs have stopped giving back items that are lost due to bugs,
If you have the screenshot of description of an item, and also the screenshot of the item being eaten, and it can be shown the nature of the bug that took your time, how is it that DMs are not providing replacements?

Re: Appearance Changer
Metaquad, the old appearance changes is a MUST if you want to wear items that alter the belt slot in anyway.
Unless belts are added to the new one, including all variations that are in fact not belts, but are belts for some reason.. (like tabards and some entire clothing pieces), removing the old one will f.example make Candlekeep guards un-uniformed.

Re: Appearance Changer
True. Belts do get annoying. Though, I'm not sure if any clothing actually has belts (apart from the new epic items, which do not work with the old appearance changer that could change belts). Though, old items can still change in this manner and would definitely be subject to that (and that is most of the items on the server).
The new appearance changer, I am sure, will have belt options in the future. Perhaps when that happens, then the old appearance changer could be overhauled/removed.

There is a warning when you use the menu "old" appearance changer that it can eat items. I believe the text is even in red.metaquad4 wrote:and there is no warning for that available IG.

There are a few appearances that the new app changer cannot provide. For it to be able to do so, it needs to have options to alter the belt slot item's appearance, and to alter glove/boot slot as well. Until those are enabled, we need the old one.

Re: Appearance Changer
It's not just a few - there are many, many armor and some weapon options only the old one has.
And if you messed up the appearance with the new one (by altering parts and material), the old one often can alter (fix) a messed up item in one click. !

Tabards, and the skirts of a few dresses are considered "belts".metaquad4 wrote:True. Belts do get annoying.
