Background: Taer grew up on a farm in Featherdale, the 4th child of 11. He lived a peaceful life with a wonderful family, but due to being a bit more gifted than most, had a desire to make more of himself. He didn't know quite what that would be until he met an old grizzled swordsman going up the River Ashaba. He hadn't really romanticized adventuring when he was younger, hearing too many stories of boys that had dreamt big and gotten themselves killed. But there was something about the way this man held himself... the sureness of his movements, the impression of a coiled snake, ready to strike. Taer decided at that moment he would dedicate himself to the sword, to apply his gifts to be the best that he could or die trying.

Goals: To develop his skills as far as he can, and to use those skills to help who he can along the way. To make sure he doesn't throw his life away meaninglessly, out of respect for his family (and especially his mother).

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: His oldest brother was the one to support his dreams, as his mother would never have consented to him risking his life like that (and his father wouldn't go against her). Since arriving at Baldur's Gate, he's developed an intimate relationship with Morin Bross, and they plan to be wed back in Featherdale in June. (will have to plan a trip at some point) He tries to keep in regular contact with his family back home through letters.
