Bards are considered one of the most powerful classes on the server.

Okay that didn't even address the statement I said as it just attempts to debunk the topic for the sake of debunking the topic. I didn't ask how powerful bards are as I know how powerful they are, I've been building since NWN1 so I know how to build as well as how powerful each class is in conjuction with every other class.

I just said bards gets nothing as in they get no real feats (OF THEIR OWN AND NOT GENERAL FEATS) to take up reinforce their bard-ness. The only type of PURE bard you can build is just a SONG bard in this server no matter how much you put into strength.

Why do you think Bard needs something, in the first? Can you isolate an instance where a lack-of-X disables or prevents gameplay when utilizing the Bard class? Does your use of "game" really imply "BGTSCC Server?"

1. Helps form a identity individual from the next bard. Having a dexterity bard or strength bard makes little difference in the long run if you both have the same gameplay that revolves around songs. Can't do much except cross-class and I'm trying to make a pure bard.

2. Versatility purpose as it can pretty crowd in the front with narrow hallways. Also I did not build my bard to abuse EDM. (If I were trying to powergame I just go that route) I wanted to play a EDM free game for once.

3. Yeah, BG. Seems Bard lack feats to make them different from the next. Oh well, back to the drawing bard. Was close to level 11 so gotta find another class to play.

Bard gets nothing... except for a whole music-creation system allowing them to devise custom music to their RP songs. Plus an ability focus feat for DCs and several new spells. And some bard-specific custom PRCs.

  1. A strength bard can go melee with buffs, making it a strong fighter, complemented with magic.
  2. A melee dex bard can go twf, close to, yet different from #1
  3. A ranged dex bard can go (long/short)bow
  4. A ranged bard can also go crossbow
  5. A CHA bard can go spellcasting / songs
So that's 5 different ways of playing a pure bard. And you could even combine a couple of the above mentioned types. I have a crossbow using dex bard for example. Quite a potent and fun to play build :-)

As you see, more than enough different types of play possible.

I didn't read the list as I said I know how to build bards. I already said no matter what attribute you focus on, you'd still be playing a song bard. I can play Zen Archery bard and would still be song bard.

Except for Stormsinger, Lyricist Tha...whatever is bad, DC got gutted, and Caniath was never added so you are not working with much.

Song Bard - Heavily reliant on Songs such Haven, Curse Song, Ironskin Chant, etc. No matter what road you take, a bard will heavily depend on their songs to see them through. So if you're caster bard and you run out of spells, you can fall back on your songs until you run out of those. Melee bards don't fair well in the frontlines without Constitution, medium mithril armor, and high saves. Range bards are useful to mostly other archers until the enemy gets pass the tank. Song bard rely on songs to soften the enemy up or to escape a bad situation.

EDM Bard - Abuse Epic Divine Might. Depending on how it is build, it can land both EDM and Songs/Hymn of Requiem. To put it simple, they can mow down anything that comes at them while taking on a group of NPCs.

Bardic Cleric - With Canaith Lyricist and Cleric, you can get 26 Cleric caster levels with PSC feat and full bard songs. They aren't overpowered by the slightest as I tasted this build. They actually do poor against the undead. Great to have in a party though do it have varies venues for buffs. I imagine if Canaith Lyricist were brought to this game, it get gutted to the point of uselessness.

Song of the Heart

Type of Feat: General

Prerequisites: Bardic music, Inspire Competence, Perform 6.

Benefit: When you use a bard song, any bonus granted by your music increases by +1. Thus, at 15th level bard with this feat grants his allies a +4 bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws. Cloud Mind, Fascinate, Song of Haven, and Inspire Slowing have their DC increased by 1. Countersong has it's SR bonus increased by 1.

Affected Songs: inspire courage, inspire competence, inspire defense, inspire regeneration, inspire toughness, inspire heroics, inspire slowing, clound mind, song of haven, countersong, and fascinate.

Your bardic music reaches the depths of its listener's hearts.
That's just a +1 bonus to Song. If the inability to bump Songs by 1 point is stopping making a viable non-EDM Bard, well...I guess maybe the better path would be to make a polite request to QC to review adding the Feat, and ask that the decision be documented publicly.

But I myself cannot imagine—and I have a song bard built to show it—that currently, a CHA-based Song Bard can actually pull off some good mechanical challenge and RP (whether pure Bard or a Bard/Stormsinger/Dissonant Chord).

1. Song of Heart and Melody casting.

2. I'm not sure why you mention what you did in the last paragraph.

1. Melody casting??

2. I mentioned that I—a subpar builder if you ask Invoker  —has put together a non-EDM Bard that focuses on CHA and songs and is perfectly viable and fun-to-play on BGTSCC. I'm sure if you would ask M3nt or Valefort to put together a Song-focused Bard, you'd see that it is totally worth it AS IS, on BGTSCC.

But then again, I also would like to play basketball in the rain and not get wet. So I do understand where you are coming from, even if I personally disagree with it (in this particular song bard instance).
