How many swings do you get with shield bash and do enchantments increase your chance to hit with shield as well as shield damage.

One attack per round. Any spells that up your AB apply to this attack. Is pretty much worthless though. Flavor only feat. Even if you dedicate tons of your feats to shield bash feats and charge feats.

Well there goes the idea of being a shield expert "Man at Arms".

The code for giving the feat multiple attacks never went live. Its still in QC, but I don't think anyone remembers.

I'll give it a ping and see where we left it.

Sadly this is the case with many custom made feats on BG. The fear of power creep is very real here and because of that many of the server specific stuff is waaaaay under powered to even consider over the original feats for most builds. Yeah sure a few here and there are used like shield specializations to get one more AC that stacks with shield AC but that stacks with existing ACs so it makes it worth it on some builds. Shield bash has a to take up too many feats to be viable and even if you put feats into it to get the daze ability with it the DC is too poor to work consistently in epic levels and you spent too many feats for it. Shield bash should just be an Epic Feat requiring you take shield specialization and agile shield fighter. Work agile shield fighter to give +2 AB instead so if using a heavy or small shield you get AB if using a tower shield you break even and do not get a -2 AB from it. Then make Shield bash from the start give a daze effect and knockdown chance for its epicness and give it DC worth it. If it is not at least 24DC you are wasting it anyway. Give it 3 attacks per round bonded to BAB. It would be great then.

The QC members and Devs do a great job I just think it can be more open in these custom feats. The bugged great feats are so OP that they overshadow the custom feats enough that we do not use them. I think they should be made worth it and watch people look for ways to use them and not always other OP feats in place of them because RP and Flavor! I mean mechanics are nice but STYLE is everything. I just can not fathom why some just do not have both!?

With a proper strength build shield slam works great. Combine it with improved knockdown and you suddenly have opponents on their arse right up until death. Of course it'll be underwhelming if you don't build properly for it!

its all about the extra knock down you can get from the one shield feat. chaining that and regular knock down to pretty much do perma KD

I guess the question then is, how does one "properly" build for shield slam? I was planning on doing this, but was expecting to have up to 3 attacks per round eventually with shield bash.
If it means dumping absolutely everything into strength, I'm skeptical.

Max Str, yep. You want your shield slam DC to be as high as possible to keep your opponent in a prone/stun lock until they die. Then it kinda becomes superfluous how many attacks you have 8-)

1. Open combat with a shield charge - opponent gets bullrushed and falls prone.

2. When they get up, shield slam them - opponent is stunned.

3. When the stun wears off, (improved) knockdown - opponent is prone again.

4. Repeat from 2.

5. Profit.

I'm a big fan of the shield bash line of feats. I was stoked when I discovered them when I first started playing here. Still loving it at epic levels. Some enemies (xvarts) cringe when you hit them with shield bash - makes you feel like a big man.

Max strength, it's easy. Make sure you get 14 intelligence to grab improved knockdown. I played a build to late epics that was a strength rogue. Had 14d6 sneak dice, fully armoured, used a combo of slam, feint, imp knockdown, expose. What many don't know is that slam opens opponents up to sneak attacks. That's just one way to do it. DC should be solid, definitely good enough to slam arcanes and divines pretty easy.

Also, I'm not sure why you thought you would get 3 extra attacks, it states clearly under custom fears that only 1 extra attack is happening. Besides, you don't take this feat for the extra damage, you take it to keep your opponent on their backside.

The wiki and feat description do indicate that Shield Bash should be giving 3 attacks per round at BAB 21. :P We'll try to get this looked at but there may be some reason it wasn't able to work as planned.
