Default Languages - UD vs Surface

So back when I played NWN1 I ran across a couple servers that had different languages set as the "common" language for a race. This made it so Common was a legitimate language people might not know. Two players from different areas, in this case the surface with it's Common, and the UD with it's Undercommon, could speak to one another and not actually understand what the other is saying, even if they type without using a language tool. They could learn the language from the other side and one of them could use the language tool to translate, but by default they wouldn't know each other's languages.

Is this possible in NWN2, or more specifically with the language system we currently use? I personally like the idea of actually having to learn languages from the other side of the barrier, and while I'd love to judge interest in the idea I'd rather first hear if it's something we could physically do on the server.

that was already tried and very much not liked by the vast majority of the UD and reverted back

The issue is the translated language appears in combat, so during an actual fight.. Nobody can talk

That's a bit different, though I'd love to see that one fixed.

Thanks for the heads up Blackman!
