Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I recently purchased the Robe of Eyes from Avernus, and unfortunately appearance kits do not seem like they can change the base look of the item. I can change colors just fine, and add shoulder pieces and bracers and all that, but it's locked into looking the way it is for the torso.

When I try to use option 1. The Style. ((Armor Variation)) it says the following in the combat log:

XPCraft : You cannot change Variation for this item.

When I try to use option 2. The basic look. ((Armor Visual Type, please do not abuse.)) for any armor type it returns the following:

XPCraft : Changes confirmed.
XPCraft : Not the correct item in slot 0: restoring last unchanged Item.
XPCraft : Unable to receive unchanged Item.

I'm assuming this is not supposed to happen. For the record the normal appearance changer doesn't work on the Robe of Eyes either.

If I recall there are a few items from the epic shop that you can't change the appearance on... I think I remember a discussion about the epic cloak of the stalker several months ago.

Any chance that these items will be changable at some point in the future? I'm fine with the current appearance of the Robe of Eyes, but if I ever want to change my look is there hope of me keeping the item, or should I look for something else?

One of the devs is working the items in this shop. I don't think he's working on this particular piece of armor, but some of these blueprints may change in the near future.

To fix this glitch you have to change it back to the original property. I.E If it was cloth when you changed it make it cloth, leather etc. If not then there is also the appearance changer on the bottom left. It'll change it to some weird looking one. After that you can change it with just the appearance changer.

You're right on the money. The identifier isn't looping around to valid IDs, and subsequently throws this error. Reverting to combined / like values is the present fix.

I'm tried this, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly... (sorry to jack the thread).

I've bought a chest piece from the stall - not the Robe of Eyes, but is still cloth. I've tried to change it to another type (none of which work) and then change it back, but no luck. The appearance changer in the bottom left doesn't let me change anything either. (vn_base: Error: Base Armor value not found).

I have a basic cloth tunic with the desired appearance (with knifesheath, dear god that took eight different outfits and so much cycling), would it be at all possible to have a DM shift the properties from one to the other, perhaps?

On that note, will a way to edit default belts (bandoleer etc) be available in future?

Could be a material, try going to an appearance changer npc and reverting it to original. Then you'd be able to change it in the appearance changer.

"Your armor isn't fit for my skills... please seek help elsewhere Madam."

How long ago did you buy the armor, if from the Hell shop?

I also had a problem where my armor refused to change yesterday. This was not a hell shop item. But mithral chainshirt. One I've changed many times without issue. No mater what trick I used it would still remain looking like a shirt/tunic.

Those you have to use the appearance changer npc. It will change it to a strange looking one which then from there you can use the appearance changer on it.

Wait a second, was it the robe of eyes I gave to candlekeep? because if it is, you have to change it to cloth then you're able to move it around. If not yeah, I'll exchange it for you.

It was cloth armor, and I couldn't for the life of me get it customised properly. (As I mentioned though, it wasn't the Robe of Eyes but another cloth piece. Sorry for jacking the thread!). Endelyon helped me out though, whilst fixing something else, so phew! It's sorted on my end at least. Thanks for the offer, Kagger.

I have this issue with the Bearskin Armor from the Hellstore now. At fist I could cycle through everything, but now I can only cycle through Cloth. I can't even cycle through what it was normally set at first, which I believe was Hides.

When I go talk to the appearance changer NPC, I can't get it to change to anything. I just defaults to a basic cloth garment.

I haven't tried the PC Menu appearance changer because it's a Hellstore item and I seem to remember something about the PC menu changer making Hellstore items disappear.

You may need a DM to assist you... This is sometimes an issue with Mithral Armors.
