Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I can't seem to get the light to work.

Torches don't light (no flame), not even if I drop them on the ground then equip (which used to be a solution for me when this happened). Lanterns don't glow. I've bought from Maltz, Sorcerer's Sundries, even found some, and none work.

However, casting Light spell works. And, I see glows from other PCs, even from my own Toon's weapons.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Have you tried clapping twice?

torches from maltz never worked

Poor comfort but they generally come alight when we make transitions.

I've never had luck with torches and lanterns. The only time they do work for me is if I get one from mob loot. And if you put one in storage and take it out, it will stop working.

What happend to that "working" torch barrel at Eastern Farmlands, it was full of "burning" of torches.

Please bring it back

The only torches that work are ones you find on dead enemies. Those are also known as "burning stick". Last time any other Lantern/Torch worked for me was in 2014.

However, even burning stick will eventually stop working, after which point it may be possible to fix it by dropping it.

So the only possibilities, as far as I know, are to

• have a piece of glowing gear (glowing rings, or "new adventurer helm"),
• Play a race with darkvision
• Utilize gems of brightness and similar magic items.
• Stay inside during the night.
