New Auto Save Breaking Druids

As the title suggests, The new regular character saving forces a druid out of their shape and then back into it. This then bugs the AC and removes all creature buffs. My friend was going from 28 AC to 17 each time it happened and not just in the character sheet.

not exactly new but yes saving breaks polymorph
you can either avoid things that auto save, like running quests
or after the auto save, leave the polymorphed form and re enter it, and all the bonuses will reapply

Except recently auto save was changed to just happen at set or random times, Which is the main issue because the last three times have been in the middle of a fight. Its also impossible to keep up with they had 3 wildshapes and two rebuffs but couldn't go all the way through gnolls.

Nope they can loot fine, Just randomly happens. The last three in the middle of a fight not even any casting going on just auto attacking.

Polymorph is accounted for whereas the effect type for wildshape wasn't. This'll be addressed soon. Avoid pulling in objects while shifted until the next update.

Does not occur while individual is polymorphed / shifted.
Does that mean that a polymorphed / shifted person can grind xp for half an hour, and loose it all in a crash, because there was no autosave while they were shifted?

There are other things that save your character such as resting, leveling, area transitioning or just general over time saves. The auto save is just an additional save much like the one found in PC tools. The server I was on prior to this one had the ability for players to turn of their own auto save by messaging them self. An actual loss from it was relatively rare, In the end it will be far less then suddenly losing all AC bonus in the middle of a fight, If you are worried though you simply rest when ever you can or you can do your own save in PC tools.

I think it was server saves, there was no trading or even picking up loot that was an issue when it happened.

yes, shifters need to save manually or have auto save break all their AC mid fight and die, losing xp that way

Not only the XP, if you haven't unshifted to save, you also loose all your gold and loot if there is a crash while you're shifted.
And if you Die while Shifted you loose your bonus spells out of your spell book and have to put them all back in again as well.

It sounds like AoS has addressed (or will be addressing) this one. The next server update should see a lot of little bug fixes like this one going in.
