I am also aware that the character limit for books was recently increased from 10,000 characters to 20,000, but when manually typing in a book (rather than using AoS Tools copy-paste function), as soon as you hit 10,000 characters you cannot type any more, just like before.

Persistent Books & Languages
I was writing a new book today and attempted to include a significant portion of Elven text. I utilised the command correctly, <language:elven>, but when I saved the book there was a message that my Elvish theurge "does not know Elven so cannot write it". The same error appeared when I used the <language:common> command as well.

Is it still impossible to write in a different language?
...and has the character limit been fixed?

It used to be available to DL here, but I see it has since been edited out?

I'm also wondering about this, both the languages part and AoS' copy/paste tool?
I never got a chance to download it or use it, and my searches aren't yielding any results.

I never DLed it because I typed all my books out from scratch, which I might as well just do IG and save the 'double handling' of an additional copy-paste, but I'm sure someone out there has a copy of the program they could chuck into a dropbox, if not AoS himself.

Re: Persistent Books & Languages
What AoS tools did, at least the one being referenced the most. I removed it as I added new functionality to it and merged it into more of a community application that has a slew of other, yet to be finished features.
You copy a bit of text you want to use, then click into the game onto any UI element that accepts text input, and press the Pause\Break key on the keyboard for it to emulate the keystrokes.
Download it here. This version supported the out of game / in game midi sequencer and a few other functions, but in total the whole lot of it is depreciated for the newer one coming.

Does this mean it isn't available anymore? (currently)

Re: Persistent Books & Languages
I edited the post thinking I could put in the url for you before you'd respond. I think this will work for any game honestly, that doesn't support built in Ctrl+V.

Re: Persistent Books & Languages
Just to confirm OP, the use of languages in the book system is still non-operational.
Attempting to use the <language:x> command fails with message: "You do not know (x) and so cannot write it."

Re: Persistent Books & Languages
Updated AoS tools (even though it's a depreciated application). Copy paste functions should work without crashing / strange behaviors. Download from the same link above.
Thanks Hidennka for pointing out the issues.

Is this able to be fixed...? Or is it one of those super low priority things? It did use to work in the past.Hidennka wrote:Just to confirm OP, the use of languages in the book system is still non-operational.
