Barbarian rage and Frenzied berserker frenzy vs lesser resto

There wasn't a subtopic for spells and abilties that I saw so I'm putting it here... like I described in the other thread....

While we're on the talk of exploits its not one I used on purpose and it certainly doesn't give you an advantage it actually hurts you.... if you are raging or frenzying and someone casts lesser restoration on you or you drink a potion of it? you lose ALL of the stats. good ones and bad ones. it blows

I'm pretty sure the above is a bug and if thats working as intended I feel as if all barbarian and berserker players should get a free 100% RCR

that is how i self-counter my FB's exhaustion. that may be working as intended. the consequence is that it is also tied into all the effects provided by the rage/frenzy.

It is not a problem. People seeing ghosts where there are none. I rather like being able to quaf a potion to take care of ill effects of things.....and yes Rage is an ill effect even if it does grant a Hulk mode.....

can a player/mob cast lesser res on a frenzy or raging opponent? if so, is there any DC check? it still seems minor, but something that "feels" kind of weird. but not even that weird considering its DnD.

That would be kind of awesome to see...once. After that I would be kind of angry if I played a barbarian and some low level cleric took away my epic rage with a simple lesser restoration spell. The key here is that it is self imposed rage condition, an enemy shouldn't be able to remove it. What happens to Bear Warrior, does it lose it's shape?

You can't cast friendly spells on an hostile target.

I've never heard of anything preventing someone from casting lesser restoration on an enemy. If a barbarian rages and frenzies and runs at a cleric and they just pop him with a second level spell he is totally screwed. If the hostile cleric can't use a lesser restoration on an enemy than I guess its fine but I don't see how they wouldn't be able to. You can heal enemies by accident so I don't see why you can't lesser resto enemies.

heal is designed just like inflict wounds (ie it is considered a harmful spell as well as helpful), because it's in the description that it acts like inflict wounds against undead. I know that my wizard can't cast negative energy ray on his undead summon to heal him as I have tested in the past. So I am pretty sure you can't cast harmful spells on allies or helpful spells on enemies. if it is an AoE spell or it can be helpful or harmful there is no such limitation, other than you can't directly target the AoE on them, but can still catch them in it.

the engine has a built in system for that yes, to cast a hostile spell on a friendly the spell has to be non bias, like implosion that can kill its own caster
