Hey Devs

I rolled a bard, and was looking forward to Bardic Knowledge feat (bard levels are added to lore check)

However the feat doesn't work at all and doesn't add any to lore skill.

Hope its possible to fix it :)

Sorry if I posted in wrong subforum

(from server updates 11/20/2016)
- Bards now receive a new version of Bardic Knowledge (+1 to all lore skills per 5 Bard levels)

That info is missing at the custom changes part.

I see. So working as intended. Sadly I was hoping to get a full maxed lore skill. Oh well. Thx for the answer Theodore :)

One question...

Was this feat so OP it had to be nerfed by 80% effectiveness? lol

Seems like insanity.

A balanced nerf would be something like increase by 1 for every 3 caster levels of bard.

1 for every 5 levels you wont even feel you have the feat. Especially at first when you get it and the feat does absolutely nothing :D

Consider the fact we have many lore skills now :) Add them up and count the total number of skill points this feat give.

Oh yes I didn't consider that :)

It would be cool if the bard could choose 1 or 2 branches of lore to 'specialize' in, and have the feat give more points in those 1 or 2 fields, or just use the old feat and choose the lore skill.

Not sure it would be worth the scripting effort, though, and the new features does just fine really.

At a minimum I would say it's not worth the effort this year. There is a lot of stuff being worked on already and this wouldn't add much. Bards can already be lore machines in all the lore skills with relatively little investment. +6 if 30 levels of Bard by the Bardic Knowledge Feat and +6 Inspire Competence and +4 from Greater Heroism means +16 to ALL lore skills... a 4 point investment in each (which is not that much with Bards 6 SP/level) means auto success on DC 20 lore checks in ANY SUBJECT. The DC for REALLY TOUGH Question is 20-30 (and most DM's have lightened up on the DC's for lore checks with the advent of so many subjects) with DC above 30 only for truly obscure/forgotten/unknown information.

So basically, if you want to be an 'expert' in one subject put 15 points in that subject and 1-4 points in the others... 2 subjects put aside 30 points with 1-4 in the others... 15+16 from inspiration, greater heroism and bardic knowledge =31 (plus any INT modifier, other spells or items that give additional bonus)...I'd say you can RP an Expert.

Agreed. I don't think the bard is a class that needs any help, really.
