Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Recently I've made my first ever wizard, picked evocation school and started playing. From what I've heard, you can manually set up your prohibited school by using a feat in the game but the problem is: I don't have anything like that.
Anybody knows what's going on?

Look in your feats. There is a feat you can activate which will allow you to pick your spell school. Also, be aware that specialist wizards are not granted 'Mark Rune' for free as one of your spell choices so if you didn't pick at character creation I recommend selecting when you hit level 2 so you don't have to waste a higher level spell pick for a level zero spell.

Like I said, I don;t have it. No matter what school I choose or how many times I recreate my character the only feat there is generalist.

Just tested, it's there.

In your feat list, under Spellcasting feats find the one called "Select Prohibited School" and drag it to your quickbar.

Click it

In the conversation that comes up select the option that says "Pick opposed school #1"

Click the option for which school you want

Click the option that says "Submit Choice & Finalize"

If you don't read the options you may be clicking to cancel out of the conversation, in which case your selection will not replace the default.

I just recently had this problem when creating a wizard for the first time. Are you saying, Chad, that this is something you do AFTER the character is already created to set the schools once you log in for the first time or is it something you do during the character creation process? I'm just trying to clarify because I did not see an option for it during the actual creation process either.

After creation, you can do it from Nexus as soon as you get in game. I will post screenshots shortly.

Step by step instructions.

1. Create your character as normal, picking whatever you want your specialization school to be.

2. In game, open your character sheet and click on the Feats tab. Scroll down and move the feat to your quickbar (see screenshot)


3. Click the feat and a dialogue will pop up. Select the option to pick prohibited school 1:


4. After selecting your school click to finalize your selection:


5. Your new prohibited school will show up in your character screen instead of the default:

And you see, I wrote it more than once already but even when I choose a specialization school, under the feats it always says that i'm generalist (even tho my character sheet clearly shows my proper spec.) and there is no option to change the opposed school. No way to click it, drag it or anything if it's not there...

Did you take your first level of wizard on a level other than first level? IE did you start as another class first? I've heard of it bugging like this when the wizard level is taken later on in the character's progression.

Please screenshot selecting your specialization school at character creation and then your feats list on your character. I tested it in the live server, not in JEGS, not as QC, but just as if I was creating a character and it worked. If I can see screenshots of your character creation process I can try to see where you might be doing something incorrectly and try to help.

Are you clicking on 'customize' during character creation or are you selecting a template?

Also, Rhifox brings up a potential issue, but I thought you said this was at character creation as opposed to level up...

Here you can see that I clearly don't have the feat and it says im generalist.

And here you can see that my school is actually necromancy.

This was the new character I made to test it again, I've never used templates or anything set up beforehand, picket it all myself.

Brak, in Tantive's post is the feat used to select a new opposition school. are you saying you do not have the feat or are you saying the feat does nothing?

It can't be neither clicked nor moved to the hotbar.
