Druid Rp Forms

Unread post by ZestyDragon »

Pretty much as the title suggests, It would be nice to have a couple of RP druid forms. Bird, cat, rabbit. Maybe make a quick new feat for it that a druid also gets at level 5, So a few more forms can be used in events and RP between players.

A small animal shape would be neat. Something with familiar-esque low physical stats, but small shapes.

Maybe make it an additional feat. "Small wild shape".

For now, you can also wildshape into an animal and use the reduce animal spell on yourself to make yourself into a smaller animal.

While interesting, there is an inherit cog in the gears of having RP wildshapes with really poor stats.

Quoted from the SRD on Wildshape;
Any gear worn or carried by the druid melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional. When the druid reverts to her true form, any objects previously melded into the new form reappear in the same location on her body that they previously occupied and are once again functional. Any new items worn in the assumed form fall off and land at the druid's feet.
NWN2 handles things differently where you still have an inventory which means you have to account for weight. If you turn into a rabbit with 2-3 Strength, guess who's hopping along slower than a snail?

If there was some way to overcome this issue, then yes, I would be in favor of it.

Its true! Maybe then the druid shouldn't carry around a bunch of stuff? :D Maybe 10-14 STR. Most druids don't normally get up to that amount of STR. Unless they are perma-encumbered, in which case, they deserve it :D :D

Carrying capacity for 2 strength is 6 Lbs for less for a light load, anything above that puts you in permanent walk slow mode. Standard leather armor alone weighs 15 Lbs.

I suppose if every Druid did not carry any items and walked around nude, then the RP forms have no issues.

The solution is so simple that it isn't even an issue.
Just give that cat/dog/rabbit/rat form 10 STR, when you create the form stats.

You can assign different forms with different stats.
The appearance and the stats are handled as separate things in the game.

You could give the Warlock's Word of Changing a rabbit appearance with STR 50, DEX 50, CON 50 if you wanted.
I know because I've personally done something similar.

There was this issue as well on Sigil back then, with the Vampire's bat form.
At first, it was given 3 STR and no one could walk, or should I say fly, in it.
Then it was changed to 10 STR.

You could then give it a creature weapon of 1d2 with -4 damage to simulate the PnP stats.

10 strength seems like a good work around as it would still use wild-shape uses. Alright if the staff signs off i will make it, I have to do something just like it for Sigil so i can do both at once.

Actually I wanted to offer to rework "polymorph and shapechange" with new and updated forms within the next days.

As this requires to work with the polymorph.2da aswell I could also add these animal forms. Or Ariella hurries with her work & gives me the number of her "lines".

Possible Forms: Cat, Stag, Chicken, Bat, Cow, Horses, Pig, Rat, Rapid, Weasel but didnt see a dog.
