Time to roll a Drow!

As the title suggest I decided to create a drow character and live in those lonely caverns of the Underdark. It's the first time ever I will do that, honestly I never even sneak a peak into that place on my surface character so it will be something new for me.
Is there anybody who would like to start with me or maybe some experience UD player who could show me what's where at the beginning? :P

I won't start a new character, but am happy to RP with you when I am in game. I play a Drow and Calodan has a Svirf Warlock. We can show you a few places to get you started and maybe shoot you a task here and there as well. Feel free to for me in game or shoot a PM if you have questions.

I've recently started playing my drow again after a long break from him. While he's not all sunshine and daisies, he is a bodyguard/mercenary type so can help with exploration and so on. Just shoot a tell if you see me on, username Colonic!

He got pretty harshly RCRed so is down to level 14 again (and that's after some play). A bit high to help you out with levelling up initially but no doubt you are soon to catch up!

I am working on a UD player too. Still trying to hammer out the build though, so might be awhile getting started...maybe you will be the one helping me out when I do.....or stabbing me in the back...whichever strikes your fancy.

I have a drow at midlevels. Send me a tell in-game if you need advise or want to RP and we can 'randomly' bump into each other.

Oh nice, more people are active in UD than I thought. :P
Also do you guys think it's blasphemy if I made my character's build semi optimal but more rp friendly with what I want? It's just that I want to follow what I consider fun but at the same time I don't know if the UD area is 'not-powerbuild' friendly.

Considering that I've basically gained levels through standing in the background in a party and looking important without doing much other than wards... it's possible. You're more likely to need someone to party up with, depending on the hour of the day etc that can be more or less difficult.

There can't be a certainty given without knowing the build in question.

Screw what anyone else thinks, if you want a powerbuild, make powerbuild. Just make sure to RP the powerbuild. Feel free to post said powerbuild and get some feedback as well.

This said, don't feel like you 'NEED' a powerbuild to be successful. All you need is to understand your builds strengths and weaknesses. My character performs very well in certain areas, but crit immunes can give me difficulties, especially if they also have DR. However, I also have som wizardly powers so instead of memorizing ALL Buffs I mix in some RTA spells that don't allow for spell resistance (cuz those Assassin levels and prioritizing DEX over INT means I am not going to get through most SR or make enemies fails saves). That's ok, orbs, ice darts and the like can do ok damage as long as I don't need to grind. For that matter, running around collecting a bunch of enemies and then tossing down an acid cloud and a couple of greater firebursts can be good fun. I can generally tank as well as anyone due to ~45 AC, 20% concealment and mirror images, but against sneak/crit immunes my damage is PITIFUL. So I either need my trusty warlock thrall or I have to use my spells to supplement my damage. Luckily since most enemies won'mt scratch me even ~4 levels above my CR there is little risk in running around and collecting half a dozen of them before laying an Acid Cloud and doing my 4-6 damage per hit while the cloud fires off the majority to take out the enemies.

Not bragging, the build has a lot of weaknesses, especially solo. Just calling out it is more about understanding what your weakness is. IMO low damage is a much better weakness to have than low saves and/or low AC. Outlasting enemies is better than having to hope you kill them before they kill you. :D
