Using this to request increase in the 75 person server limit when it caps (like now)...
Can we get a little boost?

You do realize that boosting the Server above 75 just increases lag overall?
In general, if there are 60+ Players online, the Server lags.
In general, if there are 55+ Players online and at least 1 DM running events, the Server lags.
When I say lag, that equates for me—and others I have spoken with—2 min Transitions screens, toon jumping when moving, NPC dialog lag and freezing, attack queue cancellation from lag in combat, and some other problems.
I just have to say this, because it is an issue that should be considered when speaking of making the overall connection quality worse.

I do. However, Maecius has said in the past that it could be upped on a short term basis and the past couple times I haven't noticed a major difference between 75 and 85.
Also, especially after the update today, I didn't see any lag at all...However, before the update I was rubberbanding all over the place with less than 30 logged in. So is the body count really the main culprit? *shrug* maybe, maybe not, but when I want to get in game, I wanna get in game! Doesn't mean the answer is going to be 'yes' every time, but no harm asking.

The body count + DM events IS THE CULPRIT. So says the Judge, Jury and Executioner!!!
But seriously, yes, it can be increased, as Maecius states and as Maecius has done. But if the Server maxes out at 75/75 or is increased, the ability for many—and I really mean MANY—is such a laggy situation that the Player may be logged in, but their options for what they can do in that time, is even more limited.
So, the trade off: get online, have play-performance lag of serious proportions. Not get online, and go do something valuable in Real Life, while those that ARE online have GREAT quality-of-play experience.
Shall we take a vote?!?

Population increase does not cause lag. I have played on many servers with 96 or more people online and there was no lag what so ever. Its prob something about the server itself... perhaps the system used is older then most and could use an upgrade. Lag due to population does not exist... people saying it does are perpetrating a hoax, unwittingly or not.

Are those online servers ALL NWN2 Servers?
Empirical knowledge is solid: current Server lag in a variety of ways starts once 55+ players are online. I have the luxury of being able to log onto BGTSCC at all times, random times...and I'm not talking bullshit.

That depends largely on scripts running, Vrass. The more players online, the more times various scripts have to run. For example, onequip scripts. More people directly equates to more items being worn and removed. More people moving around equates to more transitioning scripts...
If 96 people stood in one place, doing nothing, and as a result no scripts had to run... then maybe the lag would stay low. However, lots of people turns into lots of spells and combat and transitions.... very quickly.

What about maps that nobody is in? Are they processed or they are only started to be processed if one player steps in?
If its the first option, is there any way to turn into the second?

Okay, i just log out...just to give 1 more slot to anyone to enter and play.. sacrifice myself to enable another player to have quality time in game :Sarcasm

His basis of comparison is NWN1's Sinfar.

Full server on a Wednesday night?

I'll raise the limit for a while since we just had a big update. I figure a lot of people might want to connect just to download it?

Is anyone else terrified that this was correct? I mean, it certainly looks like 50+ the trouble starts.

I guess I should have prefaced by first response that I think it is GREAT to have 75, 85, 95 players on the Server at one time! I would always wish for more.
But simply put: we know the mechanical limits because of the age of the engine and the lack of ability to utilize current hardware improvements since NWN2 was supported by the developer.
