Mocking Challenge and Taunt

For reference:
Mocking Challenge (Man at Arms feat)
Specifics: Starting at 4th level, you can shout a challenge to all enemies, calling out for them to face you in combat. As a swift action, you can expend one use of your Man-at-Arms Challenge ability to cause all your enemies within 100' to make Will saves (DC 15 + 1/2 your Man-at-Arms level + your Cha modifier). Creatures that fail this save are goaded to attack you.

1) I propose that taunt have this effect. Keep the current AoE and DC for taunt, and make taunt (in addition to decreasing AC and Concentration by 2) force enemies to attack the taunter if they fail the DC.

This'll help create an aggro mechanic, allowing tanks to actually tank instead of standing around while mobs metagame their party members and go for them. However, this leaves Man At Arms without a signature feature. To address this, change Mocking Challenge.

2) Mocking Challenge (Man At Arms feat)
Specifics: Starting at 4th level, you can shout a challenge to enemies, calling out for them to face you in battle. This ability takes the form of an advanced taunt. Instead of your normal taunt radius, you taunt all enemies within a 100' radius. Your taunt DC is modified as well, and you add on half your Man At Arms level to it. Finally, your taunt has an improved effect, decreasing enemy AC and Concentration by (2+1/6 Man At Arms Level).

This allows Man At Arms to still carve out a solid niche for themselves (taunting way more effectively than anyone else, as well as having good shield AC).

Well, it would actually make spending points in taunt worthwhile endeavour. Not sure if I have anything against it.

Is there a PvP dimension to be considered?

The taunt effect stops spellcasters if it catches them in the process of casting a spell (it acts like an interrupt), and it forces players to move to attack for 1 round just like NPCs if they fail the DC. Its not that big of a deal, since, its supposed to have that exact effect. Also, taunt isn't an instant action. It has a delay between pressing taunt and the effect kicking in after the animation.

A man at arms challenge is an aoe. correct? That is what sets them apart right there. An aoe taint is FAR better than a single target taunt.

Taunt is an AoE, but its def smaller than Man At Arms. Its also targetted, instead of being a PBAoE.

And doesn't the stock NWN2 taunt have problems that it could not be placed on quickbar or something like that?

i dont think so, but you cant use it in the combat que, you have to cancel all actions and then use it

or que it and then cancel the one before it so it triggers

would be nice if the taunts were instant action abilities with a cool down that could be shortened with improved versions. that is almost what would be needed to achieve results.
